POWER SUPPLY

The clinical digital thermometer FET-365 is operated by one small sized battery model LR/SR41 or 392A. If a
pictogram is shown in the bottom right corner of the display, this means the end of the battery's life. The battery
used in the clinical digital thermometer cannot be recharged by any method! The energy storage capacity of a low
battery cannot be restored, the only possibility is its replacement.

1. The cover of the battery compartment (4) can be opened by hand. Simply grasp the cover and pull it down

from thermometer. Force does not have to be exerted for this. To remove a low battery, there is no need to
remove internal components from the case and this is prohibited – such intervention might cause irreparable
damage to the device!

2. Replace the battery! Take care to insert a new battery only. You can remove the old battery easier by using a

toothpick to extract it. Be careful not to distort the contacts of the battery! When inserting a new battery,
observe the correct polarity! The side marked with "+" on the top must be upwards! If inserted inversely, the
device does not function.

3. Re-install the cover of the battery compartment. Attention! The cover can be positioned in one way only, an

inverse position is not possible! No excessive force is needed to snap the cover of the battery compartment (4)
into place. The clinical digital thermometer is now ready for use.

If the device is not being used for a longer time, remove the battery from its compartment, as leakage may
occur during storage - escaping electrolyte may damage the device. (The factory warranty is void in the case
of such damage.)

For the sake of environmental protection, you are kindly requested not to put used low batteries into the
household waste but to dispose of them in the container of an authorised dealer.

USE OF THE DEVICE

1. Before measuring, disinfect the sensor (1) with a piece of cotton-wool slightly immersed in ethyl alcohol.

2. The clinical digital thermometer can be switched ON by pressing the push-button (3) briefly. Then the display

(2) will show 188.8°C for about 2 seconds.

3. If the device was shut off after a measurement within the operating range, this value will be displayed for

1 to 2 seconds after the device is switched ON – so you can compare the current measurement result with
the last one.

4. If there was no measurement result or the 2 seconds have expired, the display shows the text “Lo” and the

sign "°C" flashes. This means that the clinical digital thermometer is ready for a new measurement.
(Should the room temperature exceed 32°C, the display will show the room temperature instead of “Lo”.)

5. The temperature of the human body is measured at the following locations:

– under the tongue
– in the armpit
– in the anus.

6. You must not move while your temperature is being measured. If you want to have your temperature checked

under your tongue, keep your mouth closed for about 5 minutes before measuring. Then switch the clinical
digital thermometer ON, insert the sensor (1) under your tongue. Your temperature will be taken within
about 1 minute. The end of the measurement is marked by a bleep lasting 5 seconds.
When measuring in the armpit, you should wipe any perspiration out from the armpit. Then switch the
clinical digital thermometer ON, insert the sensor (1) in the middle of the armpit and close your upper arm
over the thermometer. The measurement will be completed within about 1 minute, its end will be marked by
a bleep. The reading is normally 0.5°C less than the measurement under the tongue.
When measuring in the anus, insert the sensor (1) carefully and gently into the anus. The reading is normally
0.5°C more than the measurement under the tongue.
The upper limit for temperature measurement is 42.9°C. Temperatures exceeding this value cannot be
displayed, the text "Hi” will be displayed instead.

7. After use, wipe the sensor (1) clean. The clinical digital thermometer will switch OFF automatically 10

minutes after the measurement is completed. If you want to save battery life, push the button (3) briefly to
switch the clinical digital thermometer OFF.

8. After use, clean the device thoroughly, then put it into its holder and store it in its usual place. The storage

location must be out of the reach of children but it must be accessible at any time without the need for
searching for it.
