Operating manual for dyras UHM-355B type ultrasonic humidifier

NOTES

Please read the instruction manual thoroughly before using your new appliance. It is important to keep these
instructions as a useful reminder that’ll help you enjoy the many features available. The manufacturer is not
responsible if the appliance becomes damaged or defective as a result of the user not following the information
included in the instruction manual. If the appliance becomes faulty during regular use, it should only be repaired
by an authorised service engineer.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

The following safety instructions must be followed when using the appliance. Please read this section
very carefully!

Of course, it’s not possible for us to anticipate or provide safety rules for every specific situation, so we ask you to
apply commonsense precautions when using the appliance in a situation that isn’t described below.

• This appliance has been designed for household use only, no other (heavy duty) uses are permitted.

• The appliance has been made for home or office use only. Different, heavy duty use is not allowed! Use of the

appliance in the open air (out of the home or office) is forbidden!

Attention! Never leave the appliance alone when connected to the mains power supply, not even

for the briefest time. Each time you finish using the appliance, turn the main switch to „OFF” and

disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply.

• This device is not supposed to be used by physically or mentally handicapped people, or persons without

experience or knowledge (including children, as well), unless such a person supervises or guides their use of
the device, who is at the same time responsible for their safety. As for children, supervision is recommended to
make sure that they do not play with the device. This device is not supposed to be used by children under the
age of 14, not even with supervision!

• In order to avoid electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Never touch the

appliance with wet hands. Never allow the wall socket to become wet. You must have dry hands when
you plug the mains connector into the wall socket and when you unplug it. If any moisture gets inside the
appliance, immediately stop using it and take it to a service engineer for checking or repair.

• Always disconnect the power cable from the mains socket after use, and before cleaning the appliance or

filling it up with water. Never power off by pulling the power cord out of the mains socket; always disconnect
from the mains by holding and pulling the plug! Before disconnecting from the mains, turn the appliance’s
main switch to „OFF”!

• Fill the evaporation tank with fresh, distilled water only; never use mineral water. Use cold water if possible;

the temperature of the water used must not exceed 40°C! Never use any other type of liquid, or add aromatic
oils or any other preparations to the water. The use of accessories other than those supplied with the appliance
is not allowed. Using the appliance in any way other than its intended use may be hazardous, cause a health
risk and damage the appliance.

• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around

the cover of the appliance, do not pull the cable and do not lift the appliance with the mains cable because
the cable can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised
service engineer. The appliance must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.

• Do not put the ultrasonic humidifier close to hot objects (e.g. electric or gas stove, hotplate, radiator, etc.) or

on a hot surface.

• Always operate the ultrasonic humidifier on a stable, hard, horizontal surface in order to ensure the free flow

of air through the ventilation holes at the bottom of the appliance; do not put it on a soft, sagging surface
or on a rug, carpet or cloth. Take care that the appliance does not slide from its original position, does not
topple or fall into water. Should the appliance fall and come into contact with water or any other liquid
while in operation, or should the casing (outside or inside) come into contact with moisture do not touch the
appliance; first unplug the appliance from the mains and only then take it out of the water. Do not touch the
appliance while it is powered on. Following contact with water, take the appliance to a specialized service
facility to ensure it is safe before using it again.

• The appliance must not be covered! Do not use the humidifier in narrow spaces covered from above. Ensure

that there is no furniture, plants or other items in path of the mist that is emitted; if the mist comes into
contact with such items it is likely to damage them.

• The appliance must not be moved during operation. Always turn off the appliance and unplug the power

cable from the mains socket before moving it.

• Do not use the appliance in the presence of explosive gases, flammable gases, or vapours. Refrain from using

it in dirty or dusty places, and don’t use it where it may be subjected to high or low temperatures, shock or
vibration.

• Always turn the main switch off before disconnecting the power cord from the mains. Attention! Certain

elements with the appliance retain power, even after the main switch is turned to „OFF”.

• Do not touch the appliance with moist hands. Plug the connector of the appliance into the mains with dry

hands only, and check that the casing, power cord and connector of the appliance as well as the mains socket
are dry. Should any moisture get inside the casing of the appliance stop using it immediately and take it to a
specialized service for checking or repair.

• Do not wind the power cable around the outside of the casing for storage, as this can result in the cable
