SOUTHBRIDGE CONFIGURATION SCREEN

This screen provides functions for specifying the SouthBridge configuration settings.

Note:

The SouthBridge Configuration setup screen varies depending on the supported
SouthBridge chipset.

USB Functions

This function is used to specify the number of available USB ports.

Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings: 8 USB Ports

USB 2.0 Controller

SDO

This function is used to enable or disable the USB 2.0 controller.

Optimal and Fail-Safe default settings: Enabled

SETTING

DESCRIPTION

Disabled

Use this setting to disable all USB ports.

2 USB Ports
4 USB Ports
6 USB Ports
8 USB Ports

Use this setting to specify the number of USB ports to be used.

SETTING

DESCRIPTION

Disabled

Use this setting to disable the USB 2.0 controller. When this setting is used, the USB 2.0
controller is removed from the PCI bus. Use this setting if installing an OS which is not sup-
porting USB 2.0 (e.g. Windows 2000, early Windows XP).

Enabled

Use this setting to enable the USB 2.0 controller (EHCI).
