caution: This product may ignite under certain conditions.

Please read all safety precautions before use. Please see page 4

to contact the appropriate Horizon customer support office with any

questions or concerns regarding this product or warranty.
Before first use:

• Read all safety precautions prior to use. If you have any

questions please contact Horizon customer support.

• Before the first charge, inspect the battery for any damage

to the case or covering, wires, or connectors. Also look for

any signs of swelling.

notice: If any damage or irregularities are noted, please place the

battery in a safe area and contact Horizon customer support.

Warning: All instructions and warnings must be followed

exactly. Mishandling of LiPo batteries can result in fire. By handling,

charging or using the included LiPo battery you assume all risks

associated with lithium batteries.
Charging Process Warnings and Safety Precautions:

• Never charge or use a LiPo battery that shows any damage

or disfigurement of any kind. Swelling is a sign of internal

damage. Any breach of protective cover, wiring or plugs is

also reason to discontinue use (See Disposal Instructions).

• Never leave battery and charger unattended while in

use. Improper charging or discharging of LiPo batteries

could result in fire or exlposion.

• Never allow children to charge LiPo battery packs.
• Never charge near moisture, extreme temperatures,

flammable or combustible materials.

• Never charge the battery while it is installed in a vehicle,

aircraft, or other such equipment.

• Never attempt to charge a battery that is damaged or which

has individual cell voltages below 3.0V.

• Never charge the battery at more than 1C (one times the

capacity of the battery, unless otherwise noted). Multiply the

battery mAh rating by 0.001 to determine correct charge

rate. For example, a 5000mAh battery should be charged at

5A (5000 x 0.0001 = 5).

Always use specific Lithium Polymer charger only. Do not

use a NiCd or NiMH charger

—failure to do so may cause

a fire, which may result in personal injury and/or property

damage.

• Always inspect batteries before charging.
• Always let the battery cool down to ambient temperature

before charging.

• Always verify the polarity of the battery to the charger is

correct before charging.

always constantly monitor

the temperature of the battery

pack while charging. If the battery becomes hot to the touch

discontinue charging immediately. Disconnect the battery

from the charger and observe it in a safe place for at least

15 minutes.

• Always be familiar with the operation of your charger prior

to beginning the charge process.

• Always secure the battery inside a flame-resistant LiPo

sack, such as the Xcelorin LiPo Protection Pouch Large

(LOSB9701) or Small (LOSB9700), prior to charging.

• Always ensure that the proper cell count or voltage is

selected on your charger for this battery. Failure to properly

set the cell count or voltage could result in fire or explosion

of this battery.

• For optimal performance and extended life it is

recommended that you balance your battery each time you

charge it. An external balancer can be used before each

charge or preferably you may use a balance charger, such

as the Xcelorin

MultiPro

Intelligent Balance Charger

(LOSB9606), which balances the cells while it charges.

Precautions:

LiPo batteries may explode if damaged or if disposed of

improperly.

If at any time you see a battery starting to balloon or swell,

discontinue charging or using immediately and dispose of properly

following the instructions below.
Lithium batteries can still ignite after at least 45 minutes due

to a delayed chemical reaction. If battery is damaged or overheats,

observe the battery in a safe area outside of any building or vehicle

and away from combustible material.

Do not allow children to use LiPo batteries without adult

supervision.

Shorting the wire leads can cause fire. If you accidentally short the

wires, the battery must be placed in a safe area for observation for at

least 15 minutes.
If the battery will not be used for more than one week the battery

should be charged to a level of 50% charged or about 3.8-3.9V/cell.

The Xcelorin MultiPro Intelligent Balance Charger (LOSB9606) has a

built-in storage charge function to make this process simple.

Warning: Any of the following may cause the battery to be

damaged resulting in battery swelling, leaking, or fire:

• Bending, folding or impacting of battery
• Damaging the edge seal of the battery
• Disassembling or altering the battery

crasH Damage:

Warning: If there are signs of smoke or overheating, DO

NOT go near the battery or equipment until it has been observed

from a safe distance for at least 15 minutes. Once it is safe, remove

the battery and check for damage. Dispose of damaged batteries

properly following the instructions below.
sWoLLen Batteries:

Warning: immediately stop using or charging. If the battery

is not warm to the touch, move it to an open safe area and observe

it for at least 15 minutes. Be VERY CAREFUL when moving the

batteries. Do NOT put ANY pressure on the batteries or covering as

this may cause fire. Dispose of damaged batteries properly following

the instructions below.
aDDitionaL information & guiDeLines:
