USB Interface Card Installation Instructions

The USB interface card allows the 720i, 820i,
CW-90/90X, iQUBE, and iQUBE

2

to communicate

with a host personal computer. Use the following

procedure to install USB interface cards:

1. Disconnect indicator from power source.

Warning

Disconnect power before removing
indicator backplate.

2. Place indicator face-down on an antistatic

work mat. Remove screws that hold the

backplate to the enclosure body.

Caution

Use a wrist strap to ground yourself and
protect components from electrostatic
discharge (ESD) when working inside the
indicator enclosure.

3. If using the 820i, remove the J1/J10 port

selection jumper (see Figure 1). Removing

the jumper disables RS-232 communications

through connector J10. Connections for

communications are provided on the USB

interface card, with USB data handled by Port

2, RS-232 data by Port 3.

4. Carefully align the option card connector on

the CPU board. Press down to seat the option

card in the CPU board connector.

5. Use the screws and standoffs provided in the

option kit to secure the other end of the option

card to the CPU board
