2. General Installation of the Load Shackle

It is important to remember to always use load shackles below the specified load
rating. The load must be applied in the primary load axis. Extraneous loads or
compound stress must be avoided. Ensure that safety hardware, such as safety chains
and rods, is supplied, when failure could cause injury or damage. And routinely
inspect for signs of damage, excessive wear, or corrosion. If found, replace the unit.
Do not jerk the load or apply the load at a high rate of speed.

1.

Determine where the RL4050LS is to be placed.

2.

Use the proper shackling hardware to ensure the unit is safe.

3.

Connect the cable to the indicator (see Section 3 on load shackle wiring).

Note: For optimum accuracy, use ISO washers and load in the center of the
load pin. For safety, always use the supplied cotter pin.

3. Load Cell Wiring

Each RL4050LS comes with a standard 25 foot weather resistant poly cable.
Additional cable length, SS armored cable or Teflon

®

cable is also available.

1.

Route the cable from the load shackle using the six pin molex connector.
Make sure the cable does not get crimped, damaged, or cut. The cable
should not be routed near heat sources greater than 150

°

F. Do not shorten

any load cell cable.

2.

Connect wiring from the the load shackle to the indicator using the cable
color code in the table shown below.

3.

The cable can be hooked directly to the indicator, no junction box is
necessary.

4.

Refer to the indicator manual for system calibration guidelines.
