The sun’s radiant heat has a large impact on load sensor performance. The
sun heats steel unevenly, producing stresses in the support members. To
minimize the problem, mount sensors on the back side of tank legs/skirt so
they are out of direct sunlight at all times.
•
A corrosive atomosphere around the sensors will eventually damage them.
Consult with your RLWS distributor for possible preventative measures.
•
The load must always be applied in the primary load axis. Extraneous loads
or compound stress must be avoided.
•
For vertical support members, select a location about halfway up the
support leg or flange when cross connecting supports are present. Mount
the sensors in the middle of the two supports (shown in Figure 2).

When the RL8025 is interfaced with a smart indicator like the 920i, it is not
recommended to configure the indicator to show a displayed weight but
instead, to show vessel contents with graphical icons like a bar graph.
