Using the Scale

The D1100 Series wireless bed scale has three different modes available when using the scale.

Weigh Patient

Weigh Patient

This mode is an easy way to get a quick weight reading of a patient. Use the following steps to weigh a patient.

Note

This mode includes the total weight of the patient and the bed.

Prior to weighing a patient the scale must be tared or zeroed out first.

1. Place each scale pad on a solid, flat surface (tile, cement, hardwood).
2. Put a wheel stop on each of the scale pads. (shown in Figure 4-1).
3. Place the mini ramps onto the scale pad (shown in Figure 4-1).

4. Seek assistance to help roll the bed onto the scale pads. For best results keep the wheels as close to the

center of the pads as possible.

5. Set the brakes on the bed and remove mini ramps.
6. To power up the controller, press and hold the green power button until the controller turns on

(approximately two seconds). The controller will briefly display the company logo and version number,

then displays the main menu screen.

7. Press the down arrow key to select

from the main menu on the hand held display and press

OK

.

Make sure bedding is on bed

is displayed. Press

OK

to continue the zeroing out function. As the controller is in

process, the screen will go dim for approximately five seconds and while the controller is zeroing out each

pad, the scale will be lit green.
