Quick Café II

Dual Voltage

OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Be sure Quick Café II is unplugged.

2. Set dual voltage selector switch to the proper position.

For use in the USA/North America, the voltage selector

switch should be set in the 120 volt position. For use

in most foreign countries, the selector switch must be

placed in the 240 volt position (Figure 1). Confirm the

voltage available at each location before using the Quick

Café II.

NOTE: Use the proper adaptor plug to make the

connection to a 220/240 volt electrical outlet (Figure 2).

3. Remove cup, swing lid up and pull filter assembly from

the water reservoir. Clean and dry all parts before using.

DO NOT immerse the Quick Café II base in water.

4. Slide the top off the filter basket, remove filter and add

one tablespoon of drip grind coffee. Replace filter in

basket and slide filter top along basket alignment rails

until top snaps in place (Figure 3).

IMPORTANT

SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions

should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric

shock and/or injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before using the Quick Café II.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to

persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or unit in water or

other liquids or use where it can fall or be pulled into a

tub or sink.

4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance

is used by or near children or invalids. Do not leave

unattended when connected to electrical outlet.

5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and

before cleaning the Quick Café II.

6. Do not operate the Quick Café II with a damaged cord

or plug or if the Quick Café II malfunctions, is dropped

or damaged. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not

attempt to disassemble the Quick Café II. No user

serviceable parts are contained inside. Refer servicing

to the nearest authorized service facility for examination,

repair or adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended

by Voltage Valet may result in fire, electric shock or

injury to persons.

8. Do not use outdoors or operate in the presence of

explosive and/or flammable fumes.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter,

or touch hot surfaces. Let appliance cool completely

before storing. Loop cord loosely around appliance

when storing.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner,

or in a heated oven.

11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an

appliance containing hot water and steam.

12. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead,

grasp plug and pull to disconnect.

13. Burns can occur from contact with hot metal or plastic

parts, hot water or steam; do not remove lid from unit

when heating. Scalding may occur if lid is removed

during brewing cycles. Always direct steam away from

yourself.

14. Be sure lid is secured in place when moving or pouring

from this appliance.

15. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

16. This appliance is intended for household and travel use

only; it is not intended for commercial or industrial use.

17. To avoid the possibility of electric shock, do not plug or

unplug from electrical outlet if hands are wet from filling

or usage of this appliance.

18. This appliance is intended for use with alternating

current (A.C.). Never plug this appliance into direct

current (D.C.) outlet.

19. To avoid possible damage from steam, water, spillage or

heat, do not place on furniture.

20. Always disconnect the appliance from electrical outlet

when filling with water or emptying and when not in use.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider

than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this

plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.

If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not

attempt to modify the plug in any way.

2. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high

wattage appliance such as a hair dryer, etc., at the same

time on the same circuit.

3. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce risks

resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a

longer cord.

4. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords

are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

5. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a

10-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for less

amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange

the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

6. Clean all parts before using (See “To Clean”).

CHECK VOLTAGE BEFORE USING

1. Your Quick Café II is provided with a dual voltage selector

switch that is located on the side of the Quick Café II base.

This switch is set at the factory to operate at 120 volts.

Refer to “Operating Instructions” section of this manual for

conversion to 240 volts (Figure 1).

2.

CAUTION: Be sure dual voltage selector switch is in correct

voltage position before operating.

QUICK CAFÉ II CAN

BE DAMAGED IF VOLTAGE SWITCH IS IN 120 VOLT

POSITION AND HOT BEVERAGE MAKER IS PLUGGED

INTO 220/240 VOLT ELECTRICAL OUTLET. Before

plugging in, read the information about dual voltage operation

in the “Operating Instructions” section of this manual.

NOTE: An adaptor plug may be needed when traveling

outside the USA (Figure 2). Ask your Voltage Valet dealer

about available adaptor plugs.
