the Quik-Start.
3. Make al l re quired conn ectio ns t o th e com pressor and
compone nts befo re con nect ing t he Q uik -Start to powe r.

5. Do not attem pt to us e the Quik -Start if the co mpressor
wind ings are gro unde d.
6. When us ing the 22 0V ad aptor leads fr om the Mod el 260 5 Test
Lead Kit, pr operl y gr oun d th e green lead at t he 220V sourc e.
7. Befo re removi ng th e sy stem wiri ng a nd before removi ng Quik-
Start leads after testin g, d ischa rge capacitors by shorting across
the cap acitor term inals with a screw driver or test lead.
Sold ering a 15000 ohm 1 watt resisto r acro ss the cap acito r
terminals will auto matical ly d isch arg e the cap acitor withou t
altering its perfo rman ce.
COMPRESSOR TERMINAL IDENTIFICATION
The co mpressor term inals can b e id entified by u sing an oh mmeter
set to OHMS X 1 an d measu ring the resistan ce be tween term inals.
1. Find the t wo t erm inal s that give t he hi ghest resi stance rea din g.
The rem ain ing termin al is COMMON.
2. Find th e tw o termin als with the lo west resistance. The
remain ing termin al is START.
3. The remain ing uni den tified termin al is RUN.
SPLIT PHASE COMPRESSORS
1. Set Quik-Start STARTING switch to th e OFF po sition .
2. Connect the leads as shown above. T he two YELLOW leads are
connected together.
3. Plug in the Qui k-S tart pow er co rd to gr ounded ou tlet. For 22 0V
compressors use adaptor lead s fr om 26 05 ki t.
4. Push STARTING switch to START po sition and ho ld.
5. Release STARTING s witch when co mpresso r starts. Th e switch
will remain in th e RUN positio n until m anu ally tu rned to OFF. If
com pressor does no t start, turn STARTING switch to OFF.
