FORMATTING THE HARD DISK DRIVE

10. Formatting the Hard Disk Drive

The hard disk drive in the ND2730 should be formatted with the "FAT32" file

system. Only one (the first) partition can be used.

Do not attempt to format the ND2730 disk drive with a computer. Use only the

format function on the ND2730. This will allow the hard disk to be read by either

the Windows or Mac operating systems.

Caution

● The ND2730 can work only with one partition in the file format

"FAT32". Therefore, the ND2730 formats the hard drive in the

"FAT32 file system."

To Format a New Hard Disk

The ND2730 must not be connected to a computer via USB or FireWire 800

(IEEE 1394b). Remove any memory card or USB device.
