Using an Auxiliary Power Supply
Since this scanner is bus-powered, scanning can be performed with a
single USB cable. However, scanning can be performed at a higher
speed if you use the power supply USB cable or an AC adapter (sold
separately).
Connect the power supply USB cable or AC adapter (sold separately)
to the power connector at the rear of the scanner.
