Turn off the power switch on the front panel and then the main power switch on the

side of the MFP. Leave the MFP off for 15 seconds or until the main power light goes

off. Then, turn the MFP on again.

Panel Software on page 9.

Additional Information

The following is additional information which may be of interest to you when working with Kofax

Front-Office Server and the MFP.

When Deploying Profiles

When you deploy profiles to the MFP with Kofax Front-Office Server Administration Console,

make sure the MFP is turned on. If the MFP is not on when the profiles are deployed with the

Administration Console, a “connection error” appears. When the error occurs, turn on the MFP

and deploy the profiles again.

Settings for the Ricoh Aficio MP C2500 MFP

If you are using the Ricoh Aficio MP C2500 MFP, we recommend that you change device settings

as follows to improve image quality. These settings are made through the SP Mode menu on the

device front panel.

X To configure the Ricoh Aficio MP C2500

At the Ricoh front panel, press the following buttons in order:

„

Scanner to the left of the screen

„

Clear Modes, the yellow button above the numeric keypad

„

The numbers 1, 0, and 7 on the numeric keypad

Press and hold the red Clear/Stop button until the SP Mode menu appears on the screen.

Press the Copy Sp button on the panel. The SP Mode (Service) menu appears.

Press the SP-4XXX button on the left side of the screen for Scanner settings. The list

expands to show numbered buttons with additional options.

Press the button to go down a page until you see the 4565 button for grayscale options.

Press the button. The list expands to show options for changing the settings.

Set the following options by pressing the following buttons under the 4565 button.

a

Press 5 for MTF. If the option, which appears on the right side of the screen, is not

already set to 8, use the numeric keypad to type 8 and then press #.

b

Press 6 for Smoothing. If the option is not already set to 4, use the numeric keypad to

type 4 and then press #.

c

Press 7 for Brightness. Use the numeric keypad to type 108 and then press #.

d

Press 8 for Contrast. If the option is not already set to 128, use the numeric keypad to

type 128 and then press #.

e

Press 9 for Independent Dot Erase. If the option is not already set to 0, use the numeric

keypad to type 0 and then press #.

Note

Changes that you make to the settings take effect immediately.
