How to Use This Guide

Introduction

This guide provides essential information for configuring Ascent Capture Add-ins for

Kofax Business Interaction Server to work with Ascent Capture, Ascent Xtrata Pro,

and Business Interaction Server. It also explains how operators use the add-ins

component to acknowledge customer documents (for example, orders or claims),

including confirming that a document has been received or requesting further

information from customers.

This guide assumes that you have a thorough understanding of Windows standards,

applications, and interfaces. It also assumes that you have a thorough understanding

of the Internet, your network configuration, and Ascent Capture. If you want to use

the add-ins component to request further information from customers, you’ll also

need to have a thorough understanding of Ascent Xtrata Pro.

You will find this guide useful if you are a system administrator or developer who is

configuring Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server. It

provides procedures for configuring the component as well as information for how

operators will work with the component using the settings you’ve configured.

This guide assumes that you have already installed and configured Business

Interaction Server, Kofax Template Designer, and Ascent Capture, and installed

Ascent Capture Add-ins for Kofax Business Interaction Server. It also assumes that

you have created at least one Ascent Capture batch class, document class, and form

type for use in acknowledging receipt of customer documents.

If you are using the add-ins component to request further information from

customers, you’ll also need to have installed Ascent Xtrata Pro and created an Ascent

Xtrata Pro project and Validation form.
