EY Prefilter
INSTRUCTIONS
This prefilter product is to be used for prefiltration of smoke plume generated during laser procedures.
The installation/removal of the Buffalo Filter

EY Prefilter (P/N BFEY04PF) is simple to perform.
The Buffalo Filter EY Prefilter is to be used with the ViroSafe

EY Filter (P/N VSEY1-4) and the PlumeSafe ®
Whisper

TURBO Smoke Evacuator System (P/N PSWTURBO) during laser procedures.
NOTE:
Failure to use the Buffalo Filter EY prefilter will dramatically shorten the 12-hour life of
the ViroSafe

EY Filter.
CAUTION:
Before installing or removing any filter, be sure that the system is turned off and the
electrical plug has been disconnected.
CAUTION:
If fluid is expected to be introduced into the ViroSafe

EY Filter, the Buffalo Filter EY
Prefilter or the smoke evacuation system, fluid collection device (BF P/N SCC1001) must
be installed with the vacuum hose assembly. Failure to install a fluid collection device
could cause filter blockage and electrical damage.

Please follow these instructions for installing/removing the prefilter:
1.
Remove the Buffalo Filter EY Prefilter from the shipping box and remove any protective wrapping.
Examine all filters for damage during shipping and storage. If damage is found, please contact the local
shipper for damage assessment.
2. Install the ViroSafe

EY Filter according to the instructions that accompany that product.
3. Insert a Buffalo Filter EY Prefilter into the port on the ViroSafe

EY Filter by inserting the clear end of
the prefilter into the ViroSafe

EY Filter to assure complete sealing.
4. Attach the Buffalo Filter EY Hose Kit (P/N VTEYKIT) according to the instructions that accompany
that product.
5. Proceed with the proper use of the smoke evacuation system as outlined in the Operator’s Manual.
6. After the Buffalo Filter EY Prefilter has been exhausted and requires changing, turn smoke evacuation
system off and disconnect electrical cord from electrical socket.
7. Remove the Buffalo Filter EY Prefilter and dispose of in accordance with local codes.
