interruptor esté apagado. Un fusible o un inter-
ruptor de circuito estándar no le protegerá en tal
situación. Un GCFI le ofrece más protección.

*Un GCFI es un dispositivo sensible que reac-
ciona inmediatamente a una pequeña pérdida
de corriente, deteniendo el flujo de electricidad.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL
PARA LOS AP ARATOS BITENSIÓN
Coloque el selector de voltaje sobre 125 para
uso en los Estados Unidos. Para uso en países
con sistemas eléctricos de 250 voltios, coloque
el selector en 250. Averigüe el nivel de la corri-
ente antes de usar el aparato. Para usar el apara-
to con un sistema de 240 voltios, use el adapta-
dor adecuado.
Operación 110-125 voltios
Coloque el selector de voltaje sobre 125. El
aparato funcionará con dos ajustes de temper-
atura y de velocidad: bajo (“LO”) y alto (“HI”).
Operación 220-250 voltios
Coloque el interruptor en la posición LO y el
selector de voltaje sobre 250. El aparato fun-
cionará con calor y velocidad altos únicamente.
No cambie la velocidad o la selección de volta-
je cuando use el aparato con un sistema de
220-250 voltios. Deje los interruptores en las
posiciones LO y 250.Un adaptador puede ser
necesario en ciertos países.
INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
Su secador casi no necesita mantenimiento.
No necesita lubricación. Para que funcione
correctamente, debe mantenerlo limpio.
Cuando sea necesario limpiarlo, desenchúfe-
lo y saque el polvo y las pelusas de las aber-
turas de aire con un cepillo pequeño o el
cepillo accesorio de una aspiradora. La
superficie exterior del secador sólo se debe
limpiar con un paño limpio.
El secador se recalentará si las aberturas
de aire estén bloqueadas u obstruidas. En
tal caso, un sistema de seguridad automático
apagará el secador o cortará la temperatura
para evitar daños o lesiones personales. Si
esto suceda, desenchufe el aparato y deje
que se enfríe de 10 a 15 minutos antes de
encenderlo de nuevo. Asegúrese que las ven-
tilaciones de aire estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN
NUNCA jale, retuerza ni doble mucho el cable
eléctrico. Nunca lo enrolle con fuerza alrededor
del secador. Esto pudiera dañar la junta flexible
que lo conecta al secador, produciendo su rup-
tura o un cortocircuito. Inspeccione el cable
con frecuencia para asegurarse que no está
dañado. Deje de usar el aparato inmediata-
mente si el cable parece dañado, si el apara-
to deja de funcionar o funciona de manera
intermitente.
Si el cable o el aparato esté dañado o no fun-
cione correctamente, regrese el aparato a la
tienda donde lo compró, o llévelo a un centro
de servicio autorizado únicamente. No trate
de repararlo.
ALMACENAJE – Importante
Cuando no utilice el aparato, desconéctelo,
déjelo enfriar y guárdelo en un lugar seco y
seguro, fuera del alcance de los niños. No
enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato.Deje
que el cable cuelgue o que la junta que lo
conecta al secador esté suelta y recta.
GARANTÍA LIMITADA POR UN AÑO
Conair reparará o reemplazará (a su opción) su
aparato sin cargo por un período de 12 meses
a partir de la fecha de compra si presenta
defectos de mano de obra o en los materiales.
Para obtener servicio técnico bajo esta garan-
tía, lleve o mande su aparato al Centro de
Servicio más cer cano, junto con su recibo de
compra y un cheque de $3,00US por gastos
de envío y de manejo (los residentes de
California sólo necesitan dar una prueba de
compra y deben llamar al 1-800-3-CONAIR
para recibir instrucciones de envío). En
ausencia del recibo de compra, el período de
garantía será de 12 meses a partir de la fecha
de fabricación.

which type is best for you—a portable unit
that plugs into the electrical outlet or a per-
manent unit installed by your electrician. The
National Electrical Code now requires GFCIs
in the bathrooms, garages, and outdoor out-
lets of all new homes.

water don’t mix. If your hair dryer falls in water
while it’s plugged in, the electric shock can kill
you…even if the switch is
“off.” A regular fuse or circuit
breaker won’t protect you under
these circumstances. A GFCI
offers you far greater protection.

that, the price is small! Don’t wait...install

*GFCI is a sensitive device which reacts
immediately to a small electric current leak by
stopping the electricity flow.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOR DUAL-VOLTAGE DRYERS
For use in the U.S.A., the voltage selector switch
should be placed in the 125 position. For use in
several countries overseas, the voltage selector
may need to be placed in the 250 position.
Confirm the voltage available at each overseas
location before using the appliance. For connec-
tion to a 240-volt supply, use an attachment
plug adapter of the proper configuration for the
power supply.
For 110-125 Volt Operation
Flick the dual voltage switch to the
125 position. In this position, the dryer has
two settings. It provides two speeds and two
heats—low speed and low heat on LO and
high speed and high heat on HI.
For 220-250 Volt Operation
First put the HI-LO switch into LO. Flick the
Dual voltage switch to the 250 position. At
220-250V while set at LO, the dryer operates
only at high speed with high heat. Do not
attempt to operate the HI-LO switch or
change to 125 when operating on 220-250V.
The switches must be set and remain in the
LO and 250 positions. A plug adapter may be
necessary in certain countries.
USER
MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance free. No
lubrication is needed. For proper operating
performance, the dryer must be kept clean.
When cleaning is needed, unplug the cord,
and clean dust and lint from air intake open-
ings with a small brush or the brush attach-
ment of a vacuum cleaner. The outer surface
of the dryer should be wiped clean with a
cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents will
cause the dryer to overheat. If overheating
occurs, an automatic safety device will shut
the dryer or the heat off to prevent damage or
personal injury. If the unit or the heat cycles
off, unplug the cord and allow the dryer to
cool for 10 to 15 minutes before restarting.
Make sure the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap
the cord tightly around the dryer. Damage will
occur at the high flex point of entry into the
dryer, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect
the cord frequently for damage. Stop use
immediately if damage is visible or unit stops
or operates intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not oper-
ate properly, return it for repair to an authorized
Conair service representative only. No repairs
should be attempted by the consumer.
STORAGE - Important
When not in use, your dryer should be
disconnected and stored in a safe, dry
location, out of reach of children. Do not
wrap line cord around dryer. Allow the cord
to hang or lie loose and straight at the point
of entry into the dryer.
LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace (at our option)
your unit free of charge for 12 months from
the date of purchase if the appliance is defec-
tive in workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return
the defective product to the service center
listed below that is nearest you, together
with your purchase receipt and $3.00 for
postage and handling. California residents
need only provide proof of purchase and
should call 1-800-3-CONAIR for shipping
instructions. In the absence of a purchase
receipt, the warranty period shall be 12
months from the date of manufacture.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGA-
TIONS, OR LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED
IN DURATION TO THE 12 MONTH DURATION
OF THIS WRITTEN, LIMITED WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow limitations on how
long an implied warranty lasts, so the above
limitations may not apply to you.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CONAIR BE LIABLE
FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CON-
SEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF
THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS
