To set up your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot, remove

contents from package. Insert the battery into your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot by removing the battery cover on the
bottom of the router and then sliding the battery in so the
metal pins align.

Next, plug the power adapter into the device first, then plug
the adapter into the wall socket.

Connect to Wireless
Network Using Mac

If the Airport is turned off, turn on by selecting the

Airport

icon

on Apple Menu bar, located on right side near clock

display and selecting

“ON.”

Once Airport is turned on select Airport icon and select the
wireless network for the

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot from

the dropdown list. The name will be

CLEAR Spot-###.”


The first time you select your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot,

no password is needed. After security is enabled, you will need
the security password for the wireless network.

Open the Windows wireless network connection manager on
your PC by clicking on

“Start” > “Settings” > “Control Panel.”

Go to Network Connections. In Network Connections, right
click on Wireless Network Connection and select

“View

Available Wireless Networks.”

Browse the list of available wireless network connections and
select your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot, which will appear

as

“CLEAR Spot-###.”

After selecting your

CLEAR

Spot from

the list click

“connect.”

Turn on your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot by moving the

power switch to the

“On”

position.

Plug your activated USB WiMAX modem into the USB slot on
the

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot.

Accessing the Internet

Setting up Wi-Fi Security
(optional)

After connecting to the

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot,

enabling Wi-Fi Security is recommended. To accomplish this,
simply open a browser and enter

192.168.0.1

(the router’s IP

address) into the browser’s address bar. This will open the

CLEAR

Spot setup pages. You may want to create a book-

mark to return to this page easily. Then login using the
Administration Password, which by default is the same unique
password used to connect to the

CLEAR

Spot and is printed

on the bottom of the

CLEAR

Spot device. Note that the

access password and administrator password can be reset to
different values of your choosing.

Open a web browser and surf to your home page or any web
site such as

http://www.clear.com

. Before reaching the desired

site you will be prompted for your password to connect to
your

CLEAR

Spot Personal Hotspot. Your unit’s unique default

password is printed on the bottom of the router.

Enter the password and
click the

“connect”

button.

After this first login, the

CLEAR

Spot will remember your

computer until the next time your router firmware is updated
or you perform a factory reset. This User Login page can be
disabled by using the

CLEAR

Spot setup pages and the

“Tools”

> “User Login”

menu.

materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase or
receipt of the product, whichever is later. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement

After logging into the device, click on the

“Basic”

menu tab at

the top of the setup window. Next, click on the

“Launch

Internet Connection Setup Wizard”

button in the middle of

the screen. Follow the instructions in the Wizard to complete
the setup.

After stepping through the wizard, a number of settings will
change on the device. When Wi-Fi security is enabled on your

CLEAR

Spot the computer’s connection manager will need to

be configured with the same password.
