Introduction
Scope
This Guide discusses software installation (VS-Link). VS-Link for
Windows supports several products, including:
• VS1000 and VS1100 High-Density Serial Hub
• VS2000 Analog Modem Hub
• RocketPort Serial Hub
Note: VS-Link is the device driver and supporting applications
provided with the product.
For hardware specific information, see the Hardware Installation Card
that came with the product or download it from the ftp/web site.
Operating System Requirements
The RocketPort Serial Hub requires at least one network server
running one of the following operating systems:
• Microsoft Windows
®
NT (3.51, 4.0, or higher)
Note: Windows NT 4.0 or higher is required to support Multilink
PPP.
RAS or RRAS is required to support Remote Access Service.
• Citrix
®
WinFrame
®
(1.7 or later)
Microsoft supports up to 256 RAS ports.
Connectivity Requirements
An Ethernet connection, either to an Ethernet hub or to a NIC card in
the host server. (See the Hardware Installation Card for information
regarding hardware installation.)
Note: If connecting the RocketPort Serial Hub directly to the server,
an Ethernet crossover cable is required.
