would a firearm. Always carefully follow the safety instructions found in this owner’s manual and keep this manual in a

1. Learning the Parts of Your New Airgun
Learning the names of the parts of your new airgun will help you to understand your owner’s manual. Use this manual
to increase your enjoyment of this airgun.

2. Operating the Safety
A. To Put the Airgun “ON SAFE:”
• Locate the safety above the trigger guard.
• Push the safety from the left side all the way in (Fig. 2A).
The safety is not “ON SAFE” unless it is pushed all the way in and the RED ring
around the safety is NOT showing.
Like all mechanical devices, an airgun safety can fail. Even when the safety is “ON
SAFE”, you should continue to handle the airgun safely. NEVER point the airgun at any
person. NEVER point the air gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.
B. To Take the Airgun “OFF SAFE”:
• Push the safety in from the right side (Fig. 2B).
• The airgun is ready to fire when "OFF SAFE". When you can see the RED line on
the left side of the safety, the airguns “OFF SAFE” and can be fired.
3. Installing and Removing the CO
2
Cartridge
WARNING:
CO
2
cartridges may explode at temperatures above 120°F (48.9°C). Do not
mutilate or incinerate them. Do not expose them to heat or store CO
2
cartridges at temperatures
above 120°F (48.9°C).
WARNING:
Keep hands and face away from escaping CO
2
gas. It can cause frostbite if
allowed to come in contact with skin.
A. Installing the CO
2
Cartridge
• Make sure the airgun is “ON SAFE” (See Step 2A).
• Open the piercing lever by pulling up with your thumb as shown in Figure 3.
• Push in and hold the magazine release and pull out the CO
2
magazine
• Insert a new CO
2
cartridge into the CO
2
magazine with the small neck of the
cartridge pointing up.
• Replace the CO
2
magazine, pushing in the magazine release if necessary.
• Be sure the assembly is inserted all the way into the grip frame.
• Close the piercing lever and slide the grip cover back into place.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO PINCH YOUR FINGERS WHEN CLOSING THE PIERCING
LEVER.
• Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION, take “OFF SAFE” (See Step 2B) and pull
the trigger. You will hear a
popping noise which means the gun is fully charged and ready to use.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO PINCH YOUR FINGERS WHEN CLOSING THE PIERCING
LEVER.
• Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION, take "OFF SAFE" (See Step 2B) and pull
the trigger. You will hear a
popping noise which means the gun is fully charged and ready to use.
• If the airgun does not make a popping noise after pulling the trigger, the CO
2
is not being discharged. Return the
safety to the “ON SAFE” position (See Step 2A).
• In that event, you will have to open the piecing lever, remove the CO
2
magazine and repeat the procedure to load
CO
2. NOTE: We recommend the use of CROSMAN® POWERLET® CO
2
cartridges. They are made to fit your airgun.
Other brands of CO
2
cartridges may not fit properly and if you force them into place it may result in injury to you or
damage to your airgun. Never try to force any CO
2
cartridge into or out of place. Do not store your airgun with a CO
2 cartridge in it (This is very important to remember, as it will prolong the longevity of your airgun seals.)
B. Removing the CO
2
Cartridge
• Put the airgun "ON SAFE" (See Step 2A).
• Make sure the airgun is unloaded (See Step 4B).
• Hold the airgun by the slide as shown and point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• With the other hand open the piercing lever by pulling up with your thumb as shown in Figure 3.
REMEMBER: Keep hands and face away from escaping CO
2
. It can cause frostbite if allowed to come in contact
with the skin.
• Push in and hold the magazine release to unlock and remove the CO
2
magazine.
• Tip out the empty cartridge. It may be cold to the touch.
4. Loading and Unloading Pellets and BBs
Your airgun is designed to shoot either .177 caliber pellets or BBs. The same clip is used no matter which ammo you
choose, but only one type of ammo should be used in a clip at a time.
Your airgun gun was designed to work with Crosman branded ammunition. These
include CROSMAN, COPPERHEAD, and BENJAMIN. Use of other ammunition may
cause your gun to malfunction.
A. Loading
• Make sure the airgun is "ON SAFE" (See Step 2A).
• Point the airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Press down the loading port release lever until the loading port opens (Fig. 4).
• Loading Pellets: remove the clip and place a .177 caliber (4.5 mm) pellet, nose first,
in each chamber (Fig.5).
IMPORTANT: To avoid jams or deforming the pellets, make sure the pellet skirt is level
or slightly below the rim of the chamber.
• Loading BBs: remove the clip and place a BB in each chamber (fig. 5).
IMPORTANT: To avoid jams make sure that only one BB is in each chamber.
REMEMBER: Load either all pellets or all BBs into each clip. Do not mix
ammunition.
• Insert the clip into the loading port with the ratchet teeth facing forward.
• Close the loading port by placing your hand on the rear slide and pulling the
slide back as shown in figure 6.
B. Unloading
• Put airgun "ON SAFE" (See section 2A).
• Make sure the airgun is not charged with CO
2
(section 3B)
• Open the loading port by pressing the port release button.
• Remove the clip.

• Insert a .177 caliber ramrod into the muzzle to remove any ammo from the barrel.
• Using a ramrod, gently push each pellet or BB out of each chamber of the clip.
• IMPORTANT: Never use sharp metal tools to remove pellets or BBs.
• Replace the empty clip (ratchet teeth facing the front sight).
• Close the airgun by pulling the rear slide back as shown in figure 6.
5. Aiming and Firing Safely
A. Aiming and Firing the Airgun
• Always point your airgun in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Follow the instructions for inserting CO
2
(section 3A) and loading (section 4A)
• You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your
eyes.
• Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet or BB may
bounce off or ricochet and hit someone or something you had not intended to
hit.
• Always choose your target carefully. For example, you may wish to shoot
at paper bulls-eye targets that are attached to a safe backstop such as the
Crosman 850 Target Trap. A heavy blanket should be hung behind the Target
Trap to prevent ricochet should you miss the backstop.
• Your airgun is designed for target shooting and is suited for both indoor and
outdoor use. Always remember to place your target carefully. THINK about what
you will hit if you miss the target.
• The airgun is correctly aimed when the front sight blade is positioned exactly in
the center of the notch of the rear sight. The top of the front sight blade should
be even with the top of the notch in the rear sight. The bulls-eye should appear
to rest on the top of the front sight. (Fig. 7)
• When you are sure of your target and backstop, and the area around the target is clear, take the airgun “OFF
SAFE” (See Step 2B) and pull the trigger to fire.
B. Sight Adjustment
The rear sight is adjustable for windage (left to right movement). Make sure the gun
is “ON SAFE” and POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION. To adjust the sight, pull and
hold the slide back and loosen the sight screw located underneath the rear of the
slide (fig. 8). Move the rear sight in the same direction you want the pellet to hit on
the target. Push to the left to move your shot to the left or to the right to move your
shot to the right. Tighten the screw.
6. Removing a Jammed Pellet or BB
Follow the instructions under section 4B. If you are not able to unjam your airgun
by following the unloading procedure, take no further action. An Authorized Service
Station will unjam your airgun at no cost during the warranty period.
7. Maintaining Your Airgun
• Putting 1 drop of Crosman 0241 Pellgunoil® on the tip of every CO
2
cylinder
will help to maintain your airgun. DO
NOT use petroleum distillate based oil or solvent and DO NOT over-oil as this can cause damage to your airgun.
• DO NOT MODIFY OR ALTER YOUR AIRGUN. Attempts to modify the airgun in any way inconsistent with this
manual may make your airgun unsafe to use, cause serious injury or death, and will void the warranty.
• If you drop your airgun, visually check to see that it works properly before you use it again. If anything seems
changed, like a shorter or weaker trigger pull, this may mean worn out or broken parts. Call Crosman customer
service for assistance before using your airgun again.
8. Reviewing Safety
• Never point the airgun at any person or at anything you do not intend to shoot.
• Always treat the airgun as though it is loaded and with the same respect you would a firearm.
• Always aim in a SAFE DIRECTION. Always keep the muzzle of the airgun pointed in a SAFE DIRECTION.
• Always keep the airgun ON SAFE until you are ready to shoot.
• Always check to see if the airgun is “ON SAFE” and unloaded when getting it from another person or from storage.
• Always keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until ready to shoot.
• You and others with you should always wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes.
• If your reading or prescription glasses are not safety glasses, make sure you wear shooting glasses over your
regular glasses.
• Use .177 caliber (4.5 mm) pellets or BBs only. Never reuse ammunition. Never mix ammunition.
• Do not shoot at hard surfaces or at the surface of water. The pellet or BB may bounce off or ricochet and hit
someone or something you had not intended to hit.
• Place the backstop in a location that will be safe should the backstop fail.
• Your backstop should be checked for wear before and after each use. All backstops are subject to wear and will
eventually fail. Replace your backstop if the surface is worn or damaged or if a ricochet occurs.
• Do not attempt to disassemble or tamper with your airgun. Use an Authorized Service Station. Using unauthorized
repair centers or modifying the function of your airgun in any way may be unsafe and will void your warranty.
• Before you store your airgun, make sure that it is unloaded, not charged, and that the airgun is "ON SAFE."

Many factors affect velocity, including brand of projectile, type of projectile, amount of CO
2
in cartridge, lubrication,
barrel condition and temperature.
We recommend the use of Copperhead® BBs and Crosman®.177 pellets with this gun. This airgun ammunition is
designed for use in your airgun.

REPAIR SERVICE
If your airgun needs repair, we recommend you take or send it to your nearest Crosman Authorized Service Station. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE IT! Your airgun requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. Any disassembly or
modification not performed by an Authorized Service Station will void the warranty.
A SPECIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
Crosman Authorized Service Stations will unjam your airgun at no cost during the warranty period.
LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
This product is warranted to the retail consumer for one year from date of retail purchase against defects in material and
workmanship and is transferable. To register the serial number of your airgun, please return the airgun registration form.
The warranty is not conditioned on the return of the card. You should retain the original sales receipt as record of date
of purchase.

Replacement parts and labor. Transportation charges to consumer for repaired product.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
Transportation charges to Authorized Service Station for defective product. Damages caused by abuse, modification
