To start using your

Clickfree

Portable Backup Drive:

1. Make sure that your computer is switched on and has finished starting up.

2. Log in, if that is what you normally do.

3. Attach the

Clickfree

Portable Backup Drive to your computer by connecting one end of

the USB cable to the drive and the other end to a USB port on your computer.

USB ports usually looks like this:

Please try to connect to a USB port on the computer itself: using a USB hub may not
provide enough power.

Wait for the

Clickfree

window to appear.

You may have to wait up to a full minute for

your computer to recognize the

Clickfree

Portable Backup Drive.

If your Portable Backup Drive is password protected, you are prompted to enter the

password to access the drive for backup or restore.

• If you do not remember your password, click Show Hint

and use the hint to help you enter your password.

• If you still do not remember your password, see “What if I forget my password?: on

page 39.

After you enter the password,

Clickfree

loads.

4. The first time you connect your

Clickfree

Backup Drive, the Start

Clickfree

Backup

window appears on the desktop.

a. Double-click the icon to start the backup. Every time after the first time the
backup starts by itself.

You then see a dialog that allows you to choose to make the Backup Drive work
with the Mac by formatting it as HFS.
