Find a flat work surface to assemble the ceiling enclosure, access point and antenna(s) prior to mounting in ceiling.

Step 1 – Place the ceiling enclosure
assembly
on the work surface with the
keyed doorway unlocked. Install either one
or two cable clamps as required per the
application (If using POE, only one clamp
will be required, if using separate power
supply, use two cable clamps and bring
power in through one cable clamp and
Ethernet in through the other). Figure 1.

Step 2 – Install antenna by inserting the
cables through the 1” dia. hole in the
center of the cover. After the cables have
been pulled through the door, place
rubber gasket (if included) on and thread
the plastic nut that comes with the
antenna until tight (reference Figure 2).

Step 3 – Feed the Ethernet cable though the cable clamp and
attach to the AP. Next, use the 8-32 pan head screws to fasten
the Cisco AIR-AP-BRACKET-2 to the bottom of the back box.
Place the AP so the feet fit into the key slots on the mounting
plate. The AP should be aligned so that the “Cisco Logo” is right
side up (reference Figure 3).

Step 4 – After the AP is set in the enclosure, lock it in
place by sliding the AP down along the key holes until it
clicks into place. The AP will slide approximately ½”. Pull
up on the AP to verify that is properly latched. If you feel
the AP lift from the enclosure, open the locking plate and
adjust the AP so that all four feet fall into the key slots,
then slide the AP back into position (reference Figure 4).

The assembled unit is now ready for ceiling installation.

Step 4 – Remove the ceiling tile and replace it with the completed access point enclosure assembly.

Step 5 – Use the Caddy Speed-Links to attach the enclosure to a permanent structure within the ceiling per the
manufacturer’s instructions.

**IMPORTANT** - This is an important safety feature that could prevent human injury or damage to the access

point should the unit become dislodged from the ceiling.
