The Factotum Bass Suboctave Overdrive

My heartiest congratulations to you for purchasing a Red Witch FACTOTUM

!

The device you are now holding in your hands offers several unique features, which you cannot

find anywhere else. I strongly recommend that you read on to discover the full potential of your new pedal!

The FACTOTUM is a bass guitar pedal – it’s uniquely voiced to retain all those vital low end frequencies. It holds two effects in the one box – a

massive analog suboctave effect and a bass tuned analog overdrive. Each has it’s own footswitch – you can use them independently or

simultaneously……. You and them….. a trio……. Ménage e Bass!!!

Controls

Octave

Octave Mix –

This controls the mix of analog suboctave and dry signal. Turned fully counterclockwise you will only hear the dry, unaffected

signal – indistinguishable from your bypassed signal (go on, click the bypass switch – do you hear any difference? All the low end is retained…

shazzzam!!!). As your turn the dial clockwise you’ll hear more and more of the suboctave – blending with the dry signal – until you reach the

fully clockwise position – where all you will hear is bowel rumbling suboctave.

Octave Footswitch –

This brings the octave effect into the signal path. Truebypass switching.

Overdrive

D Mix –

This controls the mix of overdrive effect and dry signal. Turned fully counterclockwise you will only hear the dry, unaffected signal

– indistinguishable from your bypassed signal. As you turn the control clockwise you will blend in more and more of the overdrive sound –

fully clockwise for 100% wet.

D Tone –

modify the overdrive tone – clockwise for more top end, counterclockwise for more bottom end.

D Volume –

This sets the maximum volume level of the overdrive – above, below or at unity gain.

Drive –

The level of overdrive – start fully counterclockwise for no overdrive and dial it gradually clockwise to overdrive the signal more and

more.

Drive Footswitch –

This brings the overdrive effect into the signal path. Truebypass switching.

Power

- The FACTOTUM can be powered from either a nine volt battery or an external nine volt adapter (Boss PSA styled is ideal - though

anything with a 2.1mm barrel plug with a negative center pin is fine.). The unit draws 45ma or current.

Keep it clean - only use a soft dry cloth on your pedals finish - abrasives will ruin the chrome and speed up the wear on the lettering. The

lettering will eventually wear off, be prepared for this - ensure you have enough canned goods and fresh drinking water.

Do Not Treat it Rough - This includes; immersing it in beer or other liquids, throwing it at stuff or people, rewiring it, setting it on fire or using

it as a weapon. It is a tough pedal but everything lasts a little longer with a little love.
