Installation Instructions

Applies to: Inlet Air Mounting Base,

Option AVA2, for Model CAUA

Sizes 350 and 400

Description and

Application

The optional mounting base is designed to support a Model CAUA 350 or 400 heater

while providing an inlet for return air. The mounting base is designed to be used with

an optional discharge plenum creating a "packaged stand-alone" heating or heating /

cooling upflow system which can be used in an air turnover application. However, if

the application requires it, the mounting base may also be used with discharge duct-

work. The mounting base has guarded openings on all four sides and is available with

optional 1" flat disposable, 1" permanent aluminum, or 1" pleated disposable filters. If

optional filters are ordered, they are installed at the factory.

Location and

Installation

The openings in the base allow return air to be circulated into the system. The base

is designed to be used in a fairly open area that does not have obstructions to airflow.

The base must have three or four sides open, which means it can be placed next to

a wall but not in a corner. Select a location where airflow is not obstructed on at least

three sides. Impeding the airflow at the inlet (or discharge), either permanently or tem-

porarily, will reduce the effectiveness of this system.
After the base is in the selected location, check it with a level. Adjust the legs until the

base is level. When the base is level, place the heater on top.
Follow the instructions in the heater installation manual to complete the installation.
