china toilets. Before starting, be sure the toilet fits in the

required space.

1. Remove present toilet and floor flange seal. Leave the two original

mounting bolts in the floor flange (Fig.1).

2. Position mounting flange with the word "FRONT" located toward

the front of the toilet. Place the mounting adapter over the two
original mounting bolts using the locating holes provided, and
loosely tighten nuts on mounting bolts to temporarily secure the
mounting adapter (Fig. 2).

3. Using the eight screw holes closest to the mounting bolt slots, drill

pilot holes with a 1/8-inch (3.2mm) drill bit. Pilot holes should be
drilled through the original floor flange and subfloor (Fig. 3). Pilot
hole depth should not exceed 1-1/2-inches (38.1mm). Mark drill
bit with depth guide.

4. If floor is carpeted, the carpet must be trimmed to the outside

surface of the flange spacer ring. (If the floor is not carpeted,
proceed to step 5). Place the spacer ring around the mounting
adapter (shown in Fig. 5). Use a utility knife (preferably) with a new
blade to cut the carpet closely around the spacer ring.

5. Lift the new mounting flange off the old one and set aside. Remove

and discard the original mounting bolts and nuts (the ones that
were loosely tightened in Step 2).

6. Turn the new mounting flange over and apply a 1/4-inch bead of

silicone caulk around the inside circumference of the mounting ring
(Fig. 4).

7. Position the new mounting flange as it was done in Step 2.

IMPORTANT: Keep the word "FRONT" toward the front of the toilet.
Make sure the holes drilled in Step 3 line up with the
new flange.

Secure the mounting adapter in place with the eight #12x1-1/2"

screws supplied.

8. Insert the four new toilet mounting bolts (supplied with new toilet)

into the slots of the mounting adapter.

Place the spacer ring around the mounting adapter (Fig. 5).

9. The flange is now ready for installation of the new toilet.

NOTE: If a water supply line extension is needed, you can buy the
necessary parts at your dealer or hardware store.
