Sigtronics 9000 “Y” Adapter

Description

The Sigtronics 9000 “Y” adapter is designed to simplify the process of connecting a Sigtronics intercom
system to a Motorola Syntor 9000, MaraTrac, Radius M400 (advanced control head), Spectra, and Astro
Spectra
radios.

Installation

1. To select an appropriate mounting spot for the adapter, first connect it up to the radio. To do this, unplug

the hand mic from the radio. You may also have to unhook the cable strain relief.

2. Plug the cord connector of the Sigtronics 9000 adapter into the hand mic connector on radio. Hook the

cable strain relief if applicable.

3. Plug the hand mic into the Sigtronics adapter. Put the hand mic cable strain relief hook into the eyelet

on the corner of the adapter if applicable.

4. Now you are ready to mount the adapter. Select a spot out of the way so that the adapter and its cables

will not interfere with the normal operation of the vehicle. Also make sure that the hand mic has enough
cable length to be used properly.

5. Hold the adapter on the intended mounting place and mark with a pen or pencil through the two mount-

ing holes. Drill two holes (4-1/8 inches apart) and mount with #6 sheet metal screws or a #6 screw and
nut combination.

6. The remaining four wire cable can be cut to length and connected to the Sigtronics intercom system.

The colors exactly match the radio wires from the intercom system.
