Group.X Audio System

Prior to power on, install the included external antenna and set all volumes and
echo to minimum, treble and bass to 5.

Power on the Group.X main unit and adjust the Master Volume to 2 or 3. This
level is simply to allow for adjustment of CD and mic levels - once the CD and mic
levels are satisfactory, the Master Volume can be used to adjust the ‘overall’ volume,
allowing the preferred mix of CD to mic to remain unchanged.

Adjust the CD volume to approximately 5, or or as desired. This level allows room to
adjust up or down, relative to the microphone level.

Power on the Aqua808 transmitter and adjust the wireless mic volume as desired,
relative to the CD level.

For wired microphone use, the input jack will accommodate either a standard XLR
or ¼ inch microphone cable connection. As phantom power is not supplied at this
input, only a dynamic microphone is recommended for use.

At this point, treble and bass tone controls may be adjusted as desired.

A Note Regarding Feedback

Most users are familiar with the unpleasant sounds of feedback - the often ear-
piercing screech that can, if loud enough, damage both equipment and hearing.
Very simply, feedback occurs when the amplified sound from a speaker is picked
up by a microphone and is then re-amplified...again and again. Feedback stops
when the ‘loop’ is broken, usually either by moving the mic or turning the volume
down.

While the Special Projects H2O is specially designed to help prevent feedback, the
user shoud be aware that no microphone can eliminate it.

The Group.X main audio unit should be placed to the side of the microphone user,
never directly behind the user.

Never place the microphone in front of the speaker while in use. If you need to
approach the front of the speaker while the system is on and the volume is up, you
may power the transmitter off until you are away from the speaker.
