How to Use
Hot Swap
If the host SATA controller supports Hot-Swapping, then SATA drives can be removed
or installed into the Mobile Rack without having to first shut the computer off. Refer
to the documentation for the SATA controller for specific details on how to safely use
its hot-swapping feature. If not supported, the computer must be shut down first, to
install or remove SATA drives.
Secondary Drive Use (Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8)
If you are using a brand new hard drive that does not contain any data, then you will
first need to prepare the hard drive for use. From the main desktop, right-click on
“My Computer” (“Computer” in Vista/7/8), then select Manage. In the new Computer
Management window, select Disk Management from the left window panel.
