Operation

4. Turn on water and pull valve stem (Fig. 5). This causes the water to flow through the filter before

exiting the faucet. To stop water flow to filter, either push in the valve stem or turn water off.

NOTE:
• A drinking water cartridge may contain carbon fines (very fine black powder). After installation,

flush the cartridge for 5 minutes to remove the fines before using the water.

• It is recommended that you run the tap at least 20 seconds prior to using water for drinking or

cooking purposes.

• During initial use, your water may appear cloudy. This cloudiness is caused by air that has been

trapped in the cartridge. If you let the water sit for 5 minutes in a glass, you will notice the
cloudiness disappear from the bottom up. This phenomenon is not harmful and will clear up within
a few weeks as the remaining air is flushed from the cartridge.

Filter Cartridge Replacement

A. Turn off faucet. Holding filter over the sink, turn it upside down and unscrew the top of the housing

from the base (Fig. A). Empty excess water into sink. Set top of filter housing aside.

B. Pull filter cartridge to remove from the base (Fig. B). Discard used cartridge. Wipe top and base of

filter housing clean with warm water, mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Do not use harsh detergents,
abrasive cleaners, or wire brushes, as they may damage the system.

C. Set base of filter on counter. Insert filter cartridge securely into filter base as shown in Figure C.
NOTE: Make sure both black O-rings are present at bottom of filter cartridge.
D. Screw top of filter housing onto base by hand and turn until you hit a hard stop. The Culligan logo

on the front of the housing should line up directly opposite the tubing.

E. Follow instruction #5 under Operation on page 2.
