Installation

Hardware Installation

The ExpressCard adapter will simply slide into the ExpressCard slot on any compatible

system. Push the card all the way in, until it ‘clicks’ and locks into place. To eject the card,

simply push the card further into the slot until it clicks, and then release and it will then

be automatically ejected from the slot.
NOTE: Some ExpressCard/54 slots do not firmly hold an ExpressCard/34 card so a

34mm to 54mm stabilizer bracket may be necessary (StarTech.com ID: ECBRACKET).

Driver Installation

Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/Server 2008 R2/7
1.

Upon starting Windows and/or inserting the ExpressCard, if the “Found New

Hardware” wizard appears on the screen, cancel/close the window or choose not

to install the drivers and insert the included Driver CD into the computer’s CD/DVD

drive.

AutoPlay may automatically launch and display all of the folders on the CD or give

you the option to view files and folders on the CD. If not, open “My Computer” and

double-click on the CD/DVD drive.

3.

Navigate to the folder “\LAN\Realtek\RTL8111B_8111C_8111E”, then the folder for

your operating system version. Double-click the file “Setup.exe”.

4.

This will launch the driver Installation wizard. Continue through the wizard and once

complete, driver will be installed.

5.

Reboot the computer and the network adapter will be ready for use.

Mac OS 10.4/10.5
1.

Upon starting Mac OS or inserting the ExpressCard, insert the included Driver CD into

the computer’s CD/DVD drive.

2.

Open a Finder window, and click on the CD icon in the Sidebar.

3.

Navigate to the directory “\LAN\Realtek\RTL8111B_8111C_8111E”.

4.

Enter the folder for your operating system version and double-click the driver

installation file (*.pkg).

5.

This should launch the driver Installation wizard. Continue through the wizard and

once complete, all the necessary drivers will be installed.

6.

Reboot the computer to complete the installation and check the “Network”

preferences in “System Preferences” to verify and configure the network adapter.
