INSTALLATION NOTE


1. DESCRIPTION

1.1 The TII Series 80-400 is an ADSL Splitter /

Filter. It is a passive in-line device designed
to let through POTS (Plain Old Telephone
Service) while blocking the Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) signals.

1.2 The TII Series 80-400 has a second

unfiltered RJ-11 port for connection to DSL
modems and Home Phone Network (HPN)
services.

2. WARRANTY

2.1 See TII Warranty. If this unit fails during the

warranty period, the factory should be
requested to authorize return. Return the unit
prepaid when authorization is received. Units
that fail due to abuse or normal wear should
be discarded.

3. INSTALLATION

3.1 Identify the location where the existing phone

line is installed.

3.2 Disconnect the existing telephone cable from

the wall jack to telephone (See Figure 1).

3.3 Insert the RJ-11 plug of the TII 80-400 (Line)

into the RJ-11 jack of the wall outlet (Figure
2).

3.4 Reconnect the telephone cable from the

Telephone (Input) to the RJ-11 on the TII 80-
400 (Phone).

3.5 Insert the DSL modem RJ-11 plug into the

RJ-11 labeled DSL Modem on the 80-400.

3.6 Perform necessary tests to confirm that the

computer communicates with the DSL
modem.

3.7 Use adhesive pad (supplied) to attach the TII

80-400 to the wall.
