Indoor Switchable Voice Module

Installation Note

Description

1.

The tii SVM-1R-P (Switchable Voice Module) is a
microprocessor controlled module that provides seamless
switching from Telco to VoIP service in multiple dwelling

units (MDU’s).

The tii SVM-1R-P is for indoor use only.

Installation

1.

Remove the unit from the bag and inspect it for damage. If
damaged, obtain another unit.

2.

Locate a suitable flat, dry area to install the unit.

3.

The SVM-1R-P should be located near the first
appearance of the Telco and VoIP Phone. The SVM-1R-P
is supplied with double faced tape for secure installation.

Wiring

House Phone

1.

Plug one end of the RJ-11 cable to the Local/Aux. Phone
receptacle on the SVM-1R-P. Plug the other end to the
p

hone at location (Figure’s 2 & 4).

Digital Phone Modem

2.

Plug one end of another RJ-11 cable to the digital phone
modem receptacle on the SVM-1R-P. Plug the other end
to the RJ-11 output from MTA/EMTA of cable modem
(Figures 2 & 4)

Telco

3.

Plug on end of the RJ-11 cable to the Telco Input
receptacle on the SVM-1R-P (Figures 2 & 4).

4.

Wire the other end of the cable to the Telco input and
other phone connections in multiple dwelling units.
