The  DAX-‐16  uses  new  features  of  HTML5.  It  streams  audio  using  ADPCM,  which  results  in  25%  of  the
bandwidth  required  for  PCM.  It  also  streams  audio  using  PCM  if  bandwidth  is  available.  The  DAX-‐16  uses
the  “range”  control  on  the  audio  configuration  page  for  setting  output  trim  levels.  Different  browsers
support  range  in  different  ways.

The  DAX-‐16  works  well  with  most  modern  web  browsers.  The  table  below  lists  the  characteristics  of
several  browsers  when  operating  the  DAX-‐16.  The  DAX-‐16  decodes  ADPCM  in  javascript  on  most
browsers  so  no  plugin  is  required.  Browsers  that  cannot  decode  ADPCM  in  javascript  will  generally  be
able  to  decode  it  with  a  plugin  (such  as  QuickTime  or  VLC).
