FREEZE PROTECTION

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

With

Non-Cycling Manual Reset

- INSTRUCTIONS -

This control is specifically designed to shut down cooling
equipment before undesirably low temperatures are reached.

This control has open on fall switch action and is of the

non-cycling manual reset type. Once its contacts open, they
will not reclose until the Manual Reset Button is pushed after
the temperature has risen above the cut-out point.

INSTALLATION

The switch mechanism of this control may be mounted

in any location provided that the temperature and humidity
of the air in which it is located do not cause a condensa

tion on the switch parts.

The sensitive element or “bulb” should be located in the
average temperature of the controlled area.

Capillary tubing should be led over a path that protects it
from injury from blows, cuts, etc., avoid kinking and twist-

jng. it should be attached to some surface at frequent
points along its length and not be permitted to hang
loosely. Excessive capillary should be coiled and secured
at some convenient protected location close to the
switch mechanism.

The bulb should be handled with reasonable care also. A
dent or sharp bend may change the calibration and cause
the control to cycle at a temperature different than the
dial setting.

SETTING

The indicator “B" points to the temperature at which the
contacts open to stop the compressor.

To sot the control, use screwdriver in slot and rotate dial

. until the desired temperature at which compressor is to

j 1 stop is directly under the indicator.

NOTE: Temperature of control bulb must be about 10^

above dial setting when Manual Reset Button is
pushed before control will allow compressor to

restart.

WIRING

All

wiring should be done Recording to local and national electrical codes.

Follow the wiring instructions provided by the cooling

equipment manufacturer. This Non-Cycling Manual Reset

control should be wired in series with the normal operat

ing control of the cooling equipment.

CALIBRATION

This control has been accurately calibrated at the factory.

If, however, due to the adaptation of the control to the

application, or for any other reason the control is very far
off calibration, it may be quickly re-calibrated as follows:

1. Measure the temperature as close to the bulb as pos

sible, immediately after the Non-Cycling Manual Reset
control opens its contacts, stopping the compressor.

2. Break the painted seal between the dial and the adjust

ing plate with a knife.

3. Carefully loosen the two dial screws. Be careful not to

turn the aluminum cylinder below the dial during this
or any of the following operations.

4. Turn the dial only so that the fixed indicator points to

the temperature measured at operation “1”.

5. Carefully tighten the dial screws.
