13. Place the rectangular rubber throttle lever

spacer over the threaded end of the screw (turn

this spacer so its “long” end points to the rear).

14. Turn the rectangular nut so that the projec­

tions on one side face

up.

Insert the rectangular

nut into the slot in the throttle lever.

15. Use two fingers to prevent the rectangular

nut from falling out and position the Engine

Throttle Lever assembly on the end of the screw.

16. Hold the Throttle Lever Assembly in place.

Use your free hand to start the screw into the

rectangular nut. You may have to move the nut

back and forth slightly until it aligns with the

screw. After you’ve started the screw, use a

Phillips head screwdriver to firmly tighten it.

17. Install one end of the long, loose wire on the

push-on terminal of the On/Off Switch and con-

nect the other end to the engine ground wire.

18. Secure the throttle cable and the Engine

On/Off Switch wire to both the lower and the

upper handlebars with the plastic ties. The ser­

rated side of the ties should be on the inside

when you loop the tie around the handlebar,

wire, and throttle cable. Tighten the tie by pulling

on its loose end. Snip off any excess tie.
