MUSICAL SOUND

LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM

DESCRIPTION

Altec's highly portable 1233 speaker system con

tains a combination of high-quality, high-power
components within an enclosure of modest di
mensions. Designed to meet the demanding
performance standards of professional musi
cians, the 1233 handles up to 120 watts of
continuous,

undistorted

power,

includes

mountings for biamplification, and yields an
extremely wide angle of coverage.

Superb performance is the result of recent
developments.

A

newly-designed

high-

frequency driver, constructed with the patented
Tangerine™ radial phase plug, yields signifi
cantly more high end bandwidth with flat

response. Altec's 15-inch musical instrument-
type loudspeaker with refinements in cone

design gives smoother low end response. And
the 1233's crossover network, specially designed

to enhance the performance and reliability of
the system, provides a smooth crossover at

1200 Hz.

Because of its compact size, professional road
ability, efficiency, and high power handling, the

1233 system is often a travelling companion to

large gospel groups and musicians needing the
portability yet reliability night after night in con

certs and nightclubs. Professional in appearance,

the 1233 handsomely displays a black leather
grained vinyl exterior and a removable textured-
polyester cloth grille. Special metal corner
guards and recessed handles improve physical
handling and set-up. The enclosure itself is rug
gedly designed, heavily braced and acoustically
damped to maximize its performance as a high-
level musical sound loudspeaker system.
