Troubleshooting and FAQs

Having problems? Before contacting ClassCo or your dealer,
check the following list of suggestions. You might be able to
solve the problem yourself.

Question:

My unit does not announce anything when the phone rings

Answers:

Make sure the volume is turned up. To turn up the volume, press
the volume control button (small button) with your finger or a
pencil eraser until you hear the unit “beep” at the desired volume
level. If you hear the unit beep twice, then the volume is off.

Make sure the batteries are installed properly. The POSITIVE and
NEGATIVE ends of the batteries must line up according to the
installation diagram inside the battery compartment.

Make sure you have connected the telephone cord between the
telephone wall jack and one of the telephone jacks on the back
of the unit.

Make sure you have subscribed to Caller ID service from your
local telephone company.

Wait for the second ring before answering the phone. The
Caller ID information is received between the first and second
ring.

Make sure you have a fresh set of Alkaline batteries installed, or
that you are using the optional AC adapter.
