readings due to static electricity build
up. (A feature normally found only on
very expensive laboratory scales).

5. This scale features an automatic

shut-off after approximately three min-
utes of inactivity (battery power only) at
which time it will shut itself off. This
conserves battery power and protects
the scale from being left on for pro-
longed periods of time when not in use.

6. FIG 8. This scale was calibrated

before shipment from the factory, but
must be recalibrated before use and it
must be recalibrated after every reposi-
tioning of the scale. Calibration can be
affected by the following factors:

a. Handling during shipment.
b. Changes in work location.
c. Drastic changes in temperature.

D. Calibration procedure:

1. Make sure the 50 gram calibration

weight is available before proceeding.

2. If the display is not showing

“0.00” gram press the “ZERO” key
once before proceeding. FIG 10. The
powder pan should not be on the plat-
form. Wait for the display to show
“0.00” gram.

3. Press and hold the “CAL/MODE”

key for four seconds until the display
reads “50.00” and begins blinking on
and off FIG 11. Press the “ON/OFF”
key once and the display will show
