About the EMS 1 Electrocompaniet Music Streamer

This unit is designed to work with the Electrocompaniet PD 1 DAC only.

A radio link is established between your computer and the PD 1. This link is

used to transmit music from the USB-port of your computer to the PD 1.

Unpacking the EMS 1

Immediately upon receipt of the EMS 1, inspect the carton for possible

damages during transport.

The contents of the carton

• 1 pc. Electrocompaniet EMS1

• 1 pc. USB type 2 cable.

• 2 pcs. antennas.

• 4 pc. rubber pads.

How to set up the EMS 1

1. Antennas

Screw one antenna to the antenna port on the EMS 1, tighten it with

your fingertips, no tool is necessary. Screw the other antenna to the

antenna port on the back-panel of the PD 1, labelled RF. Both antennas

should be set in an upright position and the top point should be kept

away from any close-by metallic objects.

2. USB type 2 cable

Connect the USB type 2 cable to the USB-port on the EMS 1 and to the

USB-port on your computer.

Verify that the units are set to the same channel

Both the PD 1 and the EMS 1 must be set to the same channel. From the

factory all units are set to channel 0. If you need to change the channel

this can be done by turning the channel indicators on both units, labelled

Ch. A small screwdriver can be used.

Set-up

Once connected and on the same channel the units will connect auto-

matically. The volume will automatically be set to the preset level. If a

connection is not established, or the connection is lost, the volume will

automatically be set to 0.

The EMS 1 will replace the sound card on your computer. To use EMS 1 you

must change the sound settings to make EMS 1 the preferred sound output.

You might need to restart your media player after setting up the EMS 1.
