TAKING MEASUREMENTS

• Turn the meter ON and set the TEST/READ switch in the

READ position.

• The temperature value will be displayed on the LCD.
• Wait a few seconds for the reading to stabilize.

CALIBRATION CHECK

®

Set the TEST/READ switch in the TEST position. If the meter
is calibrated, in a few seconds the display will stabilize and
show “0.0” for HI 147-00, or “32.0” for HI 147-01. To
return to measurement mode, move back the TEST/READ
switch to READ.
Contact your dealer or the nearest Hanna Service Center for
recalibration, if necessary.

Notes:
• Do NOT wrench the probe or put heavy objects on the

cable. If the cable is damaged, the meter needs to be
replaced.

OPERATIONAL GUIDE

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

When the display fades, remove the two screws on the back.
Remove the cover and replace the 1.5V AAA battery while
paying attention to its polarity.

Replace the cover and tighten the two screws.
Battery should be replaced only in a safe area and using
the battery type specified in this instruction sheet.

Before using these products, make

sure that they are entirely suitable

for the environment in which they

are used. Operation of these instru-

ments in residential areas could cause

unacceptable interferences to radio

and TV equipment.
Any variation introduced by the user

to the supplied equipment may de-

grade the instrument’s EMC perfor-

mance. To avoid electrical shock, do

not use these instruments when volt-

ages at the measurement surface

exceed 24 Vac or 60 Vdc.
To avoid damages or burns, do not

perform any measurement in micro-

wave ovens.

WARRANTY

HI 147-00 and HI 147-01 are warranted for one year against defects in workmanship and

materials when used for its intended purpose and maintained according to instructions. This

warranty is limited to repair or replacement free of charge. Damages due to accident, misuse,

tampering or lack of prescribed maintenance are not covered.
If service is required, contact the dealer from whom you purchased the instrument. If under

warranty, report the model number, date of purchase, serial number and the nature of the

failure. If the repair is not covered by the warranty, you will be notified of the charges

incurred. If the instrument is to be returned to Hanna Instruments, first obtain a Returned

Goods Authorization Number from the Customer Service department and then send it with

shipment costs prepaid. When shipping any instrument, make sure it is properly packaged for

complete protection.
