Instructions for Replacing the MultiHazard Glove Box HEPA

Filters

Note: A qualified service technician must preform this operation under the supervision of
the Safety Officer. The Technician must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

(Always work from the dirty side of the filter towards the clean.)

1. Turn the blower on. Increase speed to maximum.

(Fig 1)

2. Allow Glove Box to vent thoroughly to purge air

borne contaminants. (Approx. 30 minutes)

3. As an option to seal any contaminants to surface

areas, a clear acrylic may be sprayed (spraying for
approximately 10 to 15 seconds) into the exhaust
port within the Glove Box main chamber. This
seals any physical contaminants to the filter media.
Allow the acrylic to dry, 5 minutes.

4. Loosen the upper clamp from around the inlet side of

the exhaust/HEPA filter using a straight edge
screwdriver. (Fig 2)

5. With the blower on, gently pry the tubing away from

the HEPA filter. (Fig 3)
