GENERAL INFORMATION

• efore mounting or operating the outboard motor, completely read the operator s manual and labels.
Reading them will gi e you a good understanding of the motor and its operation.

• efore operating the boat, read any owner s or operator s manuals supplied with it and all labels. e sure
you understand all items from the boat manual as well as this engine manual before operating.

• o not o er power the boat with this outboard motor.

erpowering the boat could result in damage to

the boat and in ury to all occupants. he rated power of the outboard should be e ual to or less than the
rated horsepower capacity of the boat. If the rated horsepower capacity of the boat is un nown, consult
the dealer or boat manufacturer.

• o not attempt to modify the outboard. odifications could ma e the motor unsafe to use and will oid the
warranty. Incorrect propeller selection and incorrect use may not only cause engine damage, but also
ad ersely affect fuel consumption. onsult your dealer for correct use.

hen replacing oils used to lubricate the product (engine or gear oil), be sure to wipe away any spilled oil.

e er pour oil without using a funnel or similar de ice. If necessary, erify the necessary replacement
procedure with the dealer.
