WARNING:

ONLY experienced installation professionals who are familiar with local building and safety codes and,
wherever applicable, are licensed by the appropriate government regulatory authorities should install
outdoor units and antennas. Failure to do so may void the product warranty and may expose the end user
or Service Provider to legal and financial liabilities. Alvarion and its resellers or distributors are not liable
for injury, damage or regulation violations associated with the installation of Outdoor Units or antennas.

Before Installing

The antenna is mounted on a pole with an adjustable mounting adapter. The adapter is designed for mounting on any

pole between 2” to 4" diameter. Follow the guidelines below to ensure proper and smooth installation:

If a tower/mast is already installed, it is recommended installing the antenna as high as possible to obtain the

highest-quality power.

Do not install the antenna at the top of the mast; always leave at least 40 cm space between the top of the mast

and the antenna for better lightning protection.

Required clearance around antennas: To avoid frequency reuse problems caused by unwanted reflections, the

main lobe of the antenna must be clear of any metallic objects for a range of up to 10 meters. In order to avoid

the need to refer to particular antenna radiation patterns, the following criterion can be used: Clear metallic

objects from a zone of up to 45 degrees to the right and left, and 45 degrees above and below, the antenna bore

sight, for a distance of at least 10 meters.

Before leaving the installation site, check that all the hardware is secure.

The antenna should be inspected at least once a year to check its condition and to ensure safe operation and

maintenance. Qualified personnel, experienced in antenna installation, must perform this inspection.

Installation Guidelines

A. Assembling the antenna and adapter

1. Open the packaging and remove the mounting adapter.

2. Thread the two M8x150mm screws to the pole bracket. Use two M8 flat washers and tighten the screws

properly

(see Figure 1). Apply torque of 15 [N*m] (132 [lbs*in]).

3. Thread the three welded bolts on the pole bracket to the elevation bracket (see Figure 2). Use flat washers,

spring washers and nuts to firmly hold the pole bracket. Do not tighten yet.

4. Position the assembled bracket on the antenna. The four antenna ¼” studs should easily fit the bracket’s base

holes. Make sure the arrow on the elevation bracket and the arrow on the antenna point to the same

direction.

5. Fasten the four ¼” nuts, using the ¼” flat and spring washers supplied (see Figure 3). Apply torque of 8.5 [N*m]

(75 [lbs*in]).

6. Assemble the antenna on a pole. Thread the pole bracket’s two M8x150mm screws to the U-bracket until tight on

the pole (see Figure 4). Secure using M8 nuts, washers and spring washers. Apply Torque of 15 [N*m] (132

[lbs*in]).

7. Use the elevation scale to adjust the antenna elevation angle (10 degrees up - 14 degrees down) and tighten the

nuts (see Figure 5). Apply torque of 15 [N*m] (132 [lbs*in]).
