1. Select Location

Select the location for the UV Bio-Wall. Keep in mind that a straight run of duct is required to accommodate the UV Bio-Wall length. Add 6.5” to
the overall Lamp length to calculate the total length of the UV Bio-Wall (Example: UV Bio-Wall 60” requires a minimum straight run of 66.5”).

The preferred location of the UV Bio-Wall is in the return plenum. It may be installed in the supply plenum as well.

After selecting the location for installation, create an access panel and access door on the side of the duct where the UV Bio-Wall is to be
installed. The UV Bio-Wall will be installed in the center of the duct.

2. Increase UV Germicidal Efficiency by lining the duct with aluminum (RECOMMENDED)

For increased germicidal destruction, aluminum should be used to increase UV efficiency. This optional step is not required for chemical
oxidation applications. If the duct-work is not aluminum, aluminum sheets or aluminum liner may be affixed to the duct-work
surrounding the UV Bio-Wall. The aluminum should extend past the UV Bio-Wall by 6” on each end.

Sanuvox optional Part# MSC6 is a 150 ft x 6 ft roll of heavy
aluminum foil with an integrated scrim material for added strength and tear resistance.
The foil is laminated to the back of a kraft paper vapor barrier.

Mounting Hardware (Support Rods, Flanges & Mounting Clips)

The UV Bio-Wall is mounted in the center of the duct and held in place by two
aluminum support rods (Figure 3.). These rods are held in place by flanges that are
mounted to the duct walls. The Mounting Clips hold the UV Bio-Wall in place.

3. Cutting the Aluminum Support Rods

Measure the height of the duct. The rods must be ½” SHORTER than the
height of the duct on either end to accommodate the flange.

4. Attaching the Mounting Clips

Two Mounting Clips which mount to the center of the Support Rods (Figure 3.) are included.
These Mounting Clips hold the UV Bio-Wall to the Support Rods. Slide the Clips onto the
Support Rods with the open end facing upwards and tighten.

NOTE: A safety cut-off switch must be installed on the access panel that

would cut power to the UV Bio-Wall in the event the access panel is opened during operation.

Safety Considerations

Installation and servicing of air-conditioning and related equipment can be hazardous due to system pressure and electrical components. Only
trained and qualifies service personnel should install, repair or service such equipment.

Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance functions such as changing Lamps. All other operations should be performed by trained
service personnel. When working on the UV Bio-Wall purifier, observe precautions in the literature, tags, labels attached to the unit and any other
safety precautions that may apply.

Follow all safety codes. Wear Safety glasses and work gloves.

About the UV Bio-Wall

The Sanuvox UV Bio-Wall Commercial Ultraviolet Air Purifier is designed to destroy biological and *chemical (*GX models) contaminants such as
mold, bacteria, viruses, *chemicals, *VOCS and *odors that may be transmitted through the HVAC ventilation system.

The Sanuvox UV Bio-Wall is installed in the RETURN (preferred) or SUPPLY plenum of the HVAC sytem treating the air passing through the duct
work. The actual percentage of destruction obtained is based on the duct size, percentage of fresh air, velocity, number of passes and the
specific contaminants to be treated. Depending on these variables, more than one UV Bio-Wall may be required.

For information or recommendations on sizing, please call Sanuvox at 1-888-726-8869.

Installation
Insure that the site can be supplied with the necessary power requirements. The UV Bio-Wall has a power consumption of up to 750 watts each
(7.5 amps) depending on UV Bio-Wall model, and requires 110V, 230V OR 277V (depending on model). Insure that there is adequate clearance
for service. Any plastic components in direct line-of-sight of the UV Lamp should be shielded from direct UV exposure.

The suggested temperature range is 40 to 150°F (4 to 66°C). Operating the UV Bio-Wall outside this range will result in decreased performance.
NOTE: The UV Bio-Wall ballast box is not weatherproof. If installing outdoors, the UV Bio-Wall ballast box must be installed in a watertight
enclosure (adequate air circulation must be provided).
