FIBRE CHANNEL CONFIGURATIONS

Port Bypass (PBP) Module

CAUTION:

DO NOT bend the LC (optical) cable beyond the cable's minimum bend radius,

data transmission degradation may occur. Follow cable manufacturer's

guidelines for bend radius limitation.

WARNING:

DO NOT look directly into the open end of an active LC (optical) cable or optical

SFP module (with plugs removed)! Serious eye damage can occur from direct

exposure to the infrared light!

NOTES:

PBP Module is NOT hot-swappable! Remove ALL power to chassis before

removing and installing the PBP Module. Refer to the InfoStation Installation

Guide for further information.

SFP Module is hot-swappable. The chassis may remain on when removing and

installing the SFP Module.

HSSDC2 (copper) SFP Modules support 1Gbps operation only.

LC (optical) SFP Modules support both 2Gbps and 1Gbps operation.

Auto Loopback is enabled when there are no SFP Modules installed in the open

Host ports.

An additional PBP Module is available as an upgrade. Contact StorCase for

further ordering information.

SFP Cages -

Four (4) cages accept optional SFP Modules and allow for two (2) FC-AL

and Loop Expansion.

SFP Module -

Optional module supports LC (optical) or HSSDC2 (copper) connections.
