Using Answer Keys

Enter the appropriate information in the fields provided:

Click OK.

The TurningKey editor opens. A question list is generated with the number of questions selected in step 2.

If there are multiple versions of the Answer Key, select the version number from the drop-down menu.

If necessary, select the desired question type from the drop-down menu next to the question number.

Available Question Types:

Multiple Choice

Multiple Response

Fill in the Blank - Multiple correct answers must be separated by a semi-colon. Correct answers have
a limit of 16 characters.

Field Name

Description

Number of Versions

The number of test versions to be created for the answer key. A valid
entry is a whole number between 1 and 20.

Number of Questions

The number of questions to be included in the Answer Key. A valid entry
is a whole number between 1 and 100 for the XR or 1 and 200 for the
NXT.

Correct

The default point value for a correct answer. A valid entry is a number
between -10,000 and 10,000.

Incorrect

The default point value for an incorrect answer. A valid entry is a number
between -10,000 and 10,000.

Question Type

Select the default question type for the Answer Key.

Number of Choices

Select the default number of answer choices for the Answer Key.

Name

The name of the test (24 character limit). The name of the test is
displayed on the ResponseCard NXT during the log in process.

Description

Provide a description of the answer key. This field is optional.

Note

If “Essay” is selected as the default question type,
the limit is 50 essay questions.

Essay questions are not graded by TurningKey.
