Installation/Operating Instructions

Flatscreen Lift by Draper

If you encounter any diffi culties installing or servicing your FSL Flatscreen Lift, call your

Please unpack your shipment and verify that you have received all of the
parts listed below. Lift and components ship in two cartons.
• One (1) U-channel mounting bar (packed in separate carton)
• One (1) FSL Lift
• One (1) Control Box
• One (1) RF Remote Control
• One (1) Control Cable Wiring (attaches controller to lift)
• One (1) Power Cord
• One (1) Universal TV Mount
• One (1) Set 8 bolts and nuts
• One (1) Secondary Shelf
• Two (2) Secondary Shelf Stop Brackets
• One (1) Set of Lift Mounting Directions/Controller Programming Instructions

You will need the following tools to install the lift:

• One #2½ metric Allen wrench
• One #4 metric Allen wrench
• One #5 metric Allen wrench
• One drill with a #2 Phillips head screw tip
• One #5 Vix bit

Caution

➀ Read instructions completely before proceeding.

➁ Follow instructions carefully. Installation contrary to instructions invalidates
warranty.

The Flatscreen Lift must be installed on a ¾" thick back panel, such as

plywood, MDF or other stable material.

➃ Do not obstruct operation of lift with fi ngers or any object. Serious injury or

damage could result.

➄ Installer must provide adequate structure, and must also secure furniture to

wall to prevent tipping.

Note: Unit has been thoroughly inspected and tested at factory and found to be
operating properly prior to shipment.

Important Safety Instructions

➀ The lift requires a minimum load of 15 lbs in order to function properly. This can

be achieved by either (1) attaching weight to the mounting brackets, or (2)

manually applying hand pressure at the top of both slides during operation.

Caution: If manally applying pressure to the top of both slides, keep

hands, clothing and other objects out of the operational area of the lift.

➁ The lift controller has an intermittant two cycle operation—one cycle to its

upper position and one cycle to its lowered position. The controller cycles

should always start in the lowered position. The cycle time is 50 seconds on,

150 seconds off.

➂ The Maximum environment temperature of controller is not to exceed 104° F
(40°

C).

➃ Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture—for example, in a wet

basement, near a swimming pool, etc.

➄ Clean only with dry cloth.

➅ Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufac-
turer’s

instructions.

➆ Do not install near any heat sources, including radiators, heat registers, stoves,

or other equipment (including amplifi ers) that produces heat.

➇ Do not install without proper use of the polarized or grounding plug. A polarized

plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding plug has two

blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is pro-

vided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fi t into your outlet, consult an

electrician.

➈ Protect the power cord from being stepped on or pinched, particularly at the

plugs, convenience receptacles and the point where the cord exits from the

apparatus.

➉ Only use attachments/accessories specifi ed by the manufacturer.

Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specifi ed by the manu-

facturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart or rack is used, use caution
when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

Unplug the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods

of

time.

Refer all servicing to qualifi ed personnel. Servicing is required when the ap-

paratus has been damaged in any way, including but not limited to: power
supply cord or plug cut, frayed or otherwise damaged; liquid spilled/objects
fallen into the unit; exposure to rain or moisture; unit not operating normally; or
unit has been dropped.

WARNING: The main plug/appliance coupler/direct plug-in adapter is used as a

disconnect device. The disconnect device MUST remain readily available within
easy

reach.

This lightning fl ash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is

intended to alert the user to the presence of non-insulated “dangerous voltage”
within the product’s enclosure that may be of suffi cient magnitude to constitute
a risk of electric shock. Where in a manufacturer’s service documentation, for
example in circuit diagrams or lists of components, a symbol “ ” is used to
indicate that a specifi c component shall be replaced only by the component
specifi ed in that documentation for safety reasons.

When apparatus operation and installation instructions contain instructions for

use by service personnel, such instructions shall be separate in format from
other instructions and preceded by the word “CAUTION” and the following
or the equivalent. “These servicing instructions are for use by qualifi ed service
personnel only. To reduce the risk of electric shock do not perform any servic-
ing other than that contained in the operating instructions unless you are quali-
fi ed to do so.”

A warning that an apparatus with class I construction shall be connected to a

mains socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.

The unit shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects fi lled with

liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the unit.
