Saving and Sending Parameter Settings

You can save one printer’s configuration (parameter settings) and copy it to
other printers. To save the parameter settings:

Easy-Plug

Use Easy-Plug commands.

commands #!PG and #PC.

Compact Flash card

Use a CF card text file (“setup file”) for the parameter settings.

Saving settings on a Compact Flash card

1. Use the parameter

SPECIAL FUNCTION > Parameter to CF

The CF card must be plugged into the printer’s card slot.

2. Select a storing option: “With adjust para” or “Without adj. par.”

“With adjust para”

(Default setting) Parameters, which carry device specific settings, are also
saved. Examples of these settings are:
– Printhead resistance
– Sensor settings

The relevant parameter names are marked with a “*” in the setup file. Use this
option when the settings are reinstalled on the same printer.

“Without adj. par”

Parameters, which carry device specific settings, are not saved.

Use this option when settings are transferred to another printer of the same
type.

3. The default file name is displayed (storing location: directory \FORMATS on

CF card):

– SETUPALL.FOR for

SPECIAL FUNCTION > Parameter to CF

= “With adjust para”

– SETUP.FOR for

SPECIAL FUNCTION > Parameter to CF

= “Without adj. par”

Change file names and directories with the printer operation buttons or

with a connected keyboard.
