Use this addendum with the linerless option for the Monarch

9840

printer.

This printer can also print on linered supplies, so a peel edge is included in
the printer's box.

Note the following when using linerless supplies:

Only thermal direct perforated black mark supplies may be used. You
cannot use a ribbon or tag supply.

Linerless supplies must be printed using the narrow setting. See
“Adjusting the Wide/Narrow Knobs.”

A print speed of 4.0 inches per second is recommended for optimal print
quality. Your System Administrator can send the Print Control Packet or
use the Printer Configuration software (available from our Web site at
http://www.monarch.com/service/service_upgrades.htm) to change the
print speed.

You may need to increase the print contrast. See “Adjusting the Print
Contrast.” Your System Administrator can send the Print Control Packet
or use the Printer Configuration software (available from our Web site at
http://www.monarch.com/service/service_upgrades.htm) to change the
print contrast.

If printing linered labels, set the contrast to 0.

When switching between linerless and die cut (linered) supplies (or from
die cut to linerless supplies), you should use the CLEAN-STRIP

(part number 120350) to remove built-up adhesive on the printhead.

Printing serial bar codes is not recommended.

Using supply backfeed is not recommended, because of the 0.50 inch
non-print zone on the leading edge (beginning) of all labels.

See “Supported Supply Sizes” for available linerless stock sizes.
