INSTALLATION

- When installed the hood must not be less than

60 cm. above electric burners or 65 cm. above

gas or mixed burners.

Electrical Connection

- Before making the electrical connection, make

sure that the voltage of the electrical mains com-

plies with the value indicated on the rating sticker.

It is highly recommended that the connection

be made by a qualified electrician.

Unit Fitted with Plug

Insert the plug into an outlet that complies with

the electrical safety codes currently in effect.

Once inserted into the outlet, the plug must be

easily accessible. If you intend to connect the

unit directly to the electrical mains, remove the

plug and install a standard bipolar switch with a

minimum contact break of 3 mm.

Unit Not Fitted with a Plug

Install a standard plug or a standard bipolar switch

with a minimum contact break of 3 mm.

The manufacturer will not be held liable for any

problems arising out of the failure to comply with

the foregoing instructions.

CLASS I APPLIANCES MUST BE EARTHED

The connection must be made as follows:

FASTENING THE HOOD TO THE WALL

- Position the “n. 22” template (FIG.1) and drill 2

8 mm holes at the top and 2 8 mm holes at the

bottom.

- Insert 4 8 mm fischers into the corresponding

holes.

- Position the outer shell of the hood and fasten

it with 4 screws (5x45), inserting the correspond-

ing washers where needed.

CH POSITANO P

FIXING THE CONTROL PANEL (K. FIGURE 2)

- Using the two (O) screws, fix the display panel

to the body as shown in the diagram.

CH POSITANO E

FIXING THE CONTROL PANEL (K. FIGURE 2E)

- For the version with electronics, fasten the

bracket (V) to the motor casing.

- Insert the push-button panel (K) into its seat,

making sure the bottom is flush with the bracket.

- Make sure the front part of the push-button

panel is situated 85 mm from the motor casing,

turning the two screws (O) if necessary.

USE

The hood is designed to be used to either filter

and re-circulate air, or as a vented appliance.

VENTED VERSION

In order to use the hood as a vented unit, a flex-

ible tube with a diameter of 150 mm must be

attached to the (A) connector (Fig. 2) with a clamp.

The tube must then be connected to the ceiling.

VENTLESS INSTALLATION

When the cooking vapors cannot be discharged

outdoors, an activated charcoal filter is used. The

air is cleaned of impurities and then recycled back

into the room. For this type of installation, pro-

ceed as follows:

- Fix the filtering connector (L) to the bracket (E)

with no. 4 3.5x6.5 mm screws. (FIG.3).

- Fasten the connector (R) to the connector for

the filter (L) with the two screws provided

- Connect the non-flammable extendible pipe Ø

150 mm to the connector (R) with a clamp and

then to the connector (A).

IF THE HOOD IS NOT EQUIPPED FOR THE FILTER-

ING VERSION, REQUEST THE PACKAGE AND

ASSEMBLE. FIG. 3

- Fasten the support (T) to the flange (N) with

screws.

- Fasten the flange (N) to the body on 4 sides

with 8 screws

- Place the carbon filter (C) on the support (T),

turning the central knob clockwise until it locks.

ASSEMBLY OF THE RUBBER GASKET D-FIG.3

- Thread the rubber gasket in the inferior part of

the chimney and cut it to the appropriate size.

ATTENTION:Before fastening the chimney, ensure

that the buttons are correctly inserted in the holes;

if they are not, adjust the position of the control

panel with the 2 screws (O) FIG. 2-2E..

MOUNTING THE CHIMNEY FOR VENTED INSTAL-

LATION

- Fasten the (E) bracket (Fig. 3), located on the

perpendicular part of the outlet hole on the hood,

at the highest point on the wall next to the ceil-

ing, using the two Ø 8 mm screws and wall

anchors provided.

- Adjust the chimney so that it goes from the top

part of the hood to the ceiling and fasten in

place with the (P) screws (Fig. 2).

- Insert the chimney and fasten it with the two top

and two bottom (F) screws (Fig. 3).

INSTALLIN THE CHIMNEY RECYCLING

VERSION (filtering)

- Make all the operations of the previous para-

graph, but be sure to fix inside the cimney, with

the suitable screws, the filtering connection (L)

(Fig. 3).

FASTENING THE GLASS CANOPY TO THE HOOD

(FIG. 2)

- Slide the glass canopy onto the guides (G), with the

rounded part facing upward, as shown in the figure.

- Fasten the glass in place using two screws,

without tightening the screws all the way.

ASSEMBLY OF THE GRILLE B-FIG.2

- Lean the grille under the glass and thread it into

the lateral guides (G)

- Lock it into place with 12 knobs (I).

MAINTENANCE

The performance and operation of the hood de-

pends directly upon the frequency of cleaning

and maintenance. This holds especially true for

the grate (B) and the activated charcoal filter (C).

The grate serves to trap grease particles and sol-

ids suspended in the air. Therefore, it is subject to

getting clogged over time, and the speed at which

it get clogged depends on how the hood is used

and the type of cooker installed. In any case, it

must be cleaned at least once every two months.

The grate made of cold-drawn aluminium should

be washed by hand or by dishwasher leaving it to

dry before fitting.

If these cleaning instructions are not followed, it

will result in the risk of fire.

Activated Charcoal Filter

The activated charcoal filter is only present on the

ventless, filtering version and serves to trap odors

and clean the air. The life of the charcoal filter will

depend on the type of cooker and the regularity

with which the grease filters are cleaned. In any

case, the cartridge must be replaced at least once

every four months.

Clean all deposits on the fan and the other sur-

faces of the hood frequently with a cloth damp-

ened with denatured alcohol or non-abrasive liq-

uid detergents.

REPLACING THE LAMPS

- Unplug the appliance from the electrical power

supply;

- Unscrew the chrome-plated diffusor rings.

- Replace the faulty lamps, using only 20 W (max)

halogen lamps;

- Remount the chrome-plated diffuser rings.

WARNING

The cooking vapors must not be discharged into

a flue used for venting combustion fumes or

gases, nor into a duct used as a flue for rooms in

which open flame appliances are installed. The

installation for the discharge of the vapors must

comply with all local and national regulations and

safety standards. If the hood is being used in the

outdoor vented mode where other vented fuel-

burning appliances are installed, you must check

to make sure that there is a sufficient supply of air

to the room.

- Do not attempt to check the filters while the

hood is in operation.

- Do not obstruct the ventilation slots for discharg-

ing air.

-Do not touch the lamps or the lamp diffusors

after prolonged use of the hood.

- Flambéing food beneath the hood is strictly pro-

hibited.

- Avoid using an open flame, as it could damage

the filters and increase the risk of fire.

- Never leave frying food unattended to prevent

hot oil from catching fire.

- Before performing any maintenance, discon-

nect the hood from the electrical mains.

- The manufacturer will not be held liable for dam-

ages caused by the failure to follow the forego-

ing instructions.
