ADDENDUM for Variable Trim Option

This addendum to the Aurora User Manual pertains to Aurora 16’s with the Variable Trim Option only.

The Variable Trim (VT) option provides the ability to independently adjust trim the level of all analog input and
analog output channels continuously over a wide range. The trim level of each channel is controlled by a 25-
turn trimpot which provides a range of +8.5 dBu to +24 dBu full-scale (4 to 20 dB headroom above a +4 dBu
nominal level).

FACTORY SETTING
Aurora’s with the VT option are calibrated at our factory to a trim level of +22 dBu full-scale (18 dB headroom
above +4 dBu).

USER ADJUSTMENT
The trimpots are accessed by removing the top cover of Aurora. The top cover is attached to the chassis with
seven large screws plus one small screw near the center of the front faceplate. Be careful not to strip the threads
in the front panel when removing or installing the small screw.

The location of the blue trimpots for each channel is shown in the image below.

For the input channels, a clockwise rotation of the trimpot corresponds to a decrease in allowable input level
(increased sensitivity).

For the output channels, a clockwise rotation of the trimpot corresponds to an increase in output level.
